PJ how are you?

what have you been working on?

I downloaded the demo a few years ago. Liked it but havent really went back to it. Saw it in my list a few weeks ago, played around a bit and stayed with it for a few hrs even with the noise. Found it to be one the best sounding vst I own. Ranks with The Legend, Monark, Repro etc.
So.....I bought.
Since then, I have found this to be my goto for general sounds.
A breeze to program. Huge sweet spot. Low cpu. Great GUI.
I quickly created nearly a full bank of inspiring presets
This synth really needs more attention.

Use it here w reaper on win 10. I think it requires win 10.

Drop down menu is still not mousewheel friendly and still have to click, choose (OSC..., Filter..., LFO..., etc.) type, click again and than is change aplied. It's annoying for me. The only reason why I did not buy it yet. And it is on my wishlist... but... it does not fit to my "faster" workflow. On the other hand - sound/CPU wise it's amazing plugin.

Is this developer still active at all?

I'm thinking about getting this, but one of his other plugins (Xpressor) doesn't work in Cubase 12 Win 10. This one works fine for now, but seeing that one of his other plugins is broken with the DAW I use and isn't being fixed makes using this one feel riskier than usual.

The dev is active, but once a plugin is complete, they tend to stop any work on it for future compatibility. At least on the Mac side. I'd love an ARM version of Drumatic 4 and I'd happily pay the full fee for it again!
I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better? :(

Maybe…Drumatic 5 is on the way??? Kinda hope so. Although 4 is great, but no action on it for so long is a little discouraging. It’s a great drum synth, but I don’t use it much since I picked up a RYTM a few years ago. I’d pick up a 5 though.

Thanks, this is good to know. Considering the other plugin I tried is broken in my DAW, I might just hold off on this one for the time being then.

You know, I never even thought of that! I might as well report the bug and see if it's a known issue at least. Thanks for the suggestion (and the email address).

I'm using reaper 7 on windows 11. So, this plugin is incompatible with windows 11?

Post

I just tried it with Cakewalk as the DAW and I have Windows 11.
No crashes with the demo version here.
