Thank you for sharing your perspective. I understand your concerns about maintaining the security and stability of your studio system, especially with such a significant number of plugins in use.
I believe that it's also worth noting that background processes can serve various purposes, such as streamlining updates, and that is also the case with UA Connect. If one is not interested in plugin updates, they could easily uninstall UA Connect after installing the UA plugins that they’re going to use and these plugins will still function without interruption.
Meanwhile many UA plugins have good alternatives by other developers from DRM-free ones to Pace authorised plugins.

I've never been a tape fan but the UAD AMPEX ATR as a final in my master chain is magic to me. Not worried about so-called bloatware that I see no issues with.

AFAIK no, it hasn’t improved, but I have it working on my PC. It took me a while to get Total Studio Max 3.5 installed, but the upgrade price was great at the time.abject39 wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 4:00 pmBut is the installation process improved?Examigan wrote: Sun Aug 11, 2024 4:59 pmThey don’t charge any more for the extra downloads and I think they are well worth it when on sale. Disk space isn't my concern; It's the installation process. I own enough alternative bundles that I don't need to deal with unnecessary or cumbersome processes/companies. With the download pricing removed, I may consider purchasing it and then downloading and installing it later. Still, the stories I've read about the most recent versions of Sample Tank Max do a poor job of selling me on it.holmer wrote: Sat Aug 17, 2024 4:21 pm It is not THAT bad with the IK installer.

Some of their offers are just great.

So, Waves mailed today with a one-day deal on Platinum for $98. And you can supposedly get it down further if you already own plugs in the bundle.
I'm unlikely to buy it, but thought I'd check, just for grins.
And the site won't let me log in. I can't click into either the username or password fields.
The only thing I can think might be the issue is that I've got a 4K screen and have upscaled it 150%, and they may have done some sort of bad html that referenced absolute positions instead of relative ones.
Anybody else checked this?

Well, rats. That means that the problem is likely me, though I haven't ever had any difficulty with this before.
Thanks, KM!
