FFS! It's donationware, can you really not afford to gamble $5 on it? I liked it so much I bought it twice, because I thought it was worth way more than the $20 I gave him first time around.concealed identity wrote: Tue Jul 02, 2024 1:15 pmConsidering the other plugin I tried is broken in my DAW, I might just hold off on this one for the time being then.

You are a good man, sir Bones.
You can be creative in any right place on Earth, and not only in the wealthiest cities. Bring the world feelings from everywhere, and not only feelings of capitalistic or jail environment.

I can afford it just fine, but a gamble I don't want to take is if the plugin stops working properly in the future. Considering this has already happened with one of their plugins, I decided I'd be better off not buying it for now. Glad you're enjoying it and showing gratitude to the developer.BONES wrote: Fri Aug 30, 2024 10:35 amFFS! It's donationware, can you really not afford to gamble $5 on it? Wow.....you will spend hrs the first week in pure joy playing with this thing. If that is all you got....you win. That alone is worth the price of admission.
We jumped the fence because it was a fence not be cause the grass was greener.

So you don't think between now and whenever that might happen, and I don't for a second believe it will ever happen, that you'd get $5 worth of value from it? Don't be f**king ridiculous. If it works for a week you'll get $5 worth of value from it.concealed identity wrote: Fri Aug 30, 2024 2:05 pmI can afford it just fine, but a gamble I don't want to take is if the plugin stops working properly in the future.

Not if I can't open old projects with it. Based on past experience, that's more trouble than it's worth for me.BONES wrote: Sat Aug 31, 2024 1:48 amSo you don't think between now and whenever that might happen, and I don't for a second believe it will ever happen, that you'd get $5 worth of value from it? But you always will, unless you change DAWs. Even if the plugin no longer works properly, which is highly unlikely, it's not going to do anything to the project. You just replace it with something else that's maybe not quite as good but still does the job. Hardly the end of the world. Honestly, your ability to assess risk is terrible to the point of stupidity.

Don't think I'm going to trust the judgment of someone who has also judged that this is how adults talk to people. Enjoy your plugin, and good luck with your internet fights.BONES wrote: Sat Aug 31, 2024 10:23 am But you always will, unless you change DAWs. The problem with modern software is that any program can stop working at any time for any reason. Instead of incrementally updating things until something breaks, you get a machine, freezer it at that OS with those working plugins and that working DAW.
One of the nice things about ephonic is that the plugins don't have to call home to work. I have Drumatic 4 for Mac. It stopped working after Macs went to ARM, and by stopped working, I mean it still works totally fine on my old Intel-based machine. It also works fine on my new ARM MBA under Rosetta with my Linplug CRX4 (same fate, but they went out of business...), etc., etc.
Invader is fun, quick, sounds good and well worth the $5-20+ you spend on it. As we say in America, just forego the avocado toast a day or two and buy it. Most modern plugins are garbage, rehashing old algorithms with overly resource-consuming GUIs that collect more data from you than they provide decent use. They ain't worth it. This one is.

I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better?

Just bought this and it's an impressive all round virtual analog. Not trying to particularly be anything which was smart from the developer.
Also, the GUI is really nice. I wish more guys who create great synths and effects would remember that UX and UI can make or break a customer experience.

Of course this isn't how "adults talk to people", it's how grown-ups talk to children, as that seems like the way people around here are used to being treated.concealed identity wrote: Sat Aug 31, 2024 12:55 pmDon't think I'm going to trust the judgment of someone who has also judged that this is how adults talk to people. That may be true on your side of the fence but I've been using nothing but beta builds of Windows since before Windows 8 was released, so maybe 13 years or so now, and everything always just works like it always did. I have 32 bit plugins I bought 20 years ago that still load and play just fine. Vista was the last time Microsoft tried to break backwards-compatibility and they learned their lesson pretty quick-smart on that. Honestly, I cannot for the life of me understand why anyone puts up with all the krap Apple piles onto its users.syntonica wrote: Sat Aug 31, 2024 6:17 pm The problem with modern software is that any program can stop working at any time for any reason.
