I prefer the black, but the text looks a little 'spindly' and the grey text is a little harder to make out. Should maybe be whiter, or maybe thicker/bolder? The smaller text is harder to read as well. The black text, eg LFO is impossibly to see.
The gradient that's visible in the purple one seems to be there? which is layering darkness over dark and doesnt help, at eg 'mod' control.

on the purple one, some of the same issues with text and the shading/gradient doesnt really work for me at all. also the colours dont quite look right together with the purple eg the blue of the outline on the knobs, or the cream colour.
Set Theory claim:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate.
Red is Red and anything that is Red is an object, a class in itself or a real thing if you prefer"

Thanks! That's the kind of help I need, (I know I have strange taste or perception with colours), I will try other combinations.

Knob rings could have been better.
Text is not vertically aligned in suspense, save and all other buttons in that group. If you wanted them to be lower then fine.
Little bit space between keyboard and the box above would good.
Vertical texts like envelope, pitch and wave need proper alignment.

The knobs definitely look better, and the text is brighter so yeah, that improves things a bit. Maybe a bit harder to see the outer indicator on the knob on the purple one than on the black, but the pointer position is very visible anyway.

The more 'silvery' purple looks better than the previous purple.

Can you tell me more about those? Cheers

Great, you sound positive about it!

I was referring to greenish knob ring that shows how much the knob is rotated. I would recommend a brighter one and some other color instead of Green. It doesn't work with the Purple version.

Some additional observations (I wrote the previous one while looking at it on my phone):
- retrig knob in dark UI is missing the shadow
- delay, regen, etc. is that section a pop-up? You can make the main section a bit taller so that it does not stick out below. Looks odd. Why not put them in another horizontal line just below depth knobs? The height will grow a little but will help bring the symmetry.
- I will recommend a darker background for the sliders (velo, BP filter, etc.) in Purple version.
- Three arrows pointing upwards. Are they pointing to any specific knob above? If so then it's not very clear (at least to me). I would recommend a very faint background connecting to those parameters (if not dynamically changing)
- I would recommend moving Beating and Fast env below, assuming they are for their respective section just below. They are disjointed now even though placed above their section, it's background that creates that confusion.
- Since it's resizable ( I see the drag icon at bottom right corner), play around with the brighter Blue ring of the knob, it looks jagged in smaller size.
- You have different colors for section headers (pitch, wave, etc.). I would recommend a bigger size font or Bold font to differentiate from the labels.
- If you want a more cleaner look then show the knob values (262%, 598ms, etc.) only when cursor is placed on the knob or moved

Thanks a lot! Here my reply and the screenshots of the current design. (I visited your website, I hope to have enough sales in future to afford to pay a designer for a proper and pro GUI design)

Yes, changed.

When control is off it's flat
- delay, regen, etc. is that section a pop-up? You can make the main section a bit taller so that it does not stick out below. Looks odd. Why not put them in another horizontal line just below depth knobs? The height will grow a little but will help bring the symmetry.
You are right but after using it I found it handy as a popup that doesn't tak extra space, I may change the colour switch in the main background.

Done, somehow.
- Three arrows pointing upwards. Are they pointing to any specific knob above? If so then it's not very clear (at least to me). I would recommend a very faint background connecting to those parameters (if not dynamically changing)
I'm thinking to add a label under the Depth knobs to reinforce the meaning of arrow. Since I don't' want to touch the wave display.
- I would recommend moving Beating and Fast env below, assuming they are for their respective section just below. They are disjointed now even though placed above their section, it's background that creates that confusion.
So far I moved those top controls to be more in the suggested vertical sections, if that's not enough I will think again.
- Since it's resizable ( I see the drag icon at bottom right corner), play around with the brighter Blue ring of the knob, it looks jagged in smaller size.
Maybe the screenhot did that? On the monitor they look smooth.
- You have different colors for section headers (pitch, wave, etc.). I would recommend a bigger size font or Bold font to differentiate from the labels.
I made some changes there too, I hope it's better now.
- If you want a more cleaner look then show the knob values (262%, 598ms, etc.) only when cursor is placed on the knob or moved
Yes that could be an option to add in teh settings panel (to do), when also tooltips can be disabled.

Thanks for visiting the site. You might have noticed in the services page that I also help indie and open-source developers when time permits, and project is not so huge.

The latest version looks good. If I keep looking, then I will find something or other to improve or change. Chasing that goal for perfection is never ending :-D
