Right, that makes sense! The graphics engine is seriously next-level—huge props to you for that. It really seems to open up endless possibilities for users, which is always a win in my book. As for the audio engine, I guess we'll have to wait and see. PM synthesis has made some big strides lately, with VSTs like Atoms, Objekt, Preparation, and Outersect Modeler coming out in quick succession. It's getting crowded in there. Can’t wait to see how it all plays out when the release drops!anukari-music wrote: Wed Aug 14, 2024 4:10 pm
As runagate posted, the "interactive" part is talking about being able to see the 3D simulation and e.g. grab a mass with the mouse and throw it, or stretch something out, etc. Also I am under the impression that Baby Audio's Atoms went up to 2D, but not 3D. Maybe I'm wrong about the 2D thing, but still you cannot interact directly with the physics simulation in a 3D way.

The pre-alpha for Anukari is starting soon: super early builds to get feedback from a handful of people. If you're interested, register interest with this form: https://forms.gle/PS83V1TNoH92Z7A59

I've been working hard on optimizations, seeing how hard I can push the GPU. This little demo pushes it to (and a little past) the limit, but is giving me some super strong motivation to keep optimizing to make stuff like this more possible:

Is this a limit on the audio or the graphics rendering?anukari-music wrote: Tue Aug 27, 2024 2:53 am I've been working hard on optimizations, seeing how hard I can push the GPU.

It's pretty much purely the audio. One reason the graphics are as simple as they are is to keep them from impacting the audio rendering. Modern graphics cards are so powerful, these kinds of graphics don't even register. (In fact, I do hope to improve the graphics somewhat -- eventually the textures and models at least can be done by a real artist, instead of me.)

I posted a couple of quick demo videos today. I've gotten a lot done since the last update, focusing a lot on MacOS performance, and also massively improving the visuals. The graphics are super-configurable now and it's possible to load custom skyboxes and 3D assets, for folks who want to completely change the appearance.

I love these videos so much. I suppose I ought to mention my old PC died last week, got a new one, going through the twice a decade pain of reinstalling 800+ plugins

Install the 20 you use all the time, and then over time, get drunk or high and pretend you're shopping for new plugins but you're really just installing something you already own. The drunk/high part is optional, of course.runagate wrote: Fri Oct 25, 2024 6:04 pm I love these videos so much. I know it's taking forever to get this plugin out, but I continue to make progress! Still no release date, but it is getting much closer. I've had a lot of success with optimizing the performance to get it to run great on both Windows and MacOS, and am working with an amazing 3D artist to redo all the graphics. The skyboxes and 3D assets are also fully-configurable, and in addition to several presets anyone with the know-how will be able to create their own. Anyway here's a demo of the latest stuff:

Yep, it's an open (paid) beta, so anyone can get in at https://anukari.com. There's a free demo, which I'd recommend trying out before buying it.Ah_Dziz wrote: Thu May 01, 2025 7:32 pm Is there a way to get on the beta? I'm very interested. Is there an fx version?
And yeah, it comes with an FX plugin as well as the instrument!
