The top hat / flat top filters are still there. Just adjust the peak bell slope as seen in the picture. It goes even steeper than EQ4, up to 96db.cpsmusic wrote: Mon Sep 02, 2024 3:00 am Any idea why the Pultec-style filters have been removed? Also the "flat-top" filters don't seem to be present?
And just a general comment, I don't really get the "product distinction" between 4 and Pro - seems like there's a lot of crossover and yet some things are only present in one or the other (e.g. the per-band saturation).
It would be great if the developer could explain the thinking behind this release.
Cheers!

big differences I think - the only thing I can see that is in EQ4 and not EQPro is the saturation, otherwise EQPro is quite an expansion on EQ4cpsmusic wrote: Mon Sep 02, 2024 3:00 am Any idea why the Pultec-style filters have been removed? Also the "flat-top" filters don't seem to be present?

The differences are quite apparent in the product description. The pro version supports to 64 channels is only one of the many standouts. There is a comparison chart at the bottom of the product page that tells you all you need to know about the differences.cpsmusic wrote: Mon Sep 02, 2024 3:00 am Any idea why the Pultec-style filters have been removed? This question is more support-related but I'll ask here maybe someone knows. So yesterday I sang accolades for Tonnebooster plugins and convinced my friend to demo and I told him there are nice bundles to purchase.
Today he tells me there is zero bundle. I am like wait what? I remember I purchased a bundle and at the time there were at least 3 different Tonebooster bundles. So I was a bit stumped because I convinced him on bundles.
Where did they go? Is there some specific page or what? Bundles are not an option anymore?

I think the bundles were discontinued quite a while ago.kmonkey wrote: Mon Sep 02, 2024 10:38 am This question is more support-related but I'll ask here maybe someone knows. A quick tip that escaped my initial trial.
Press the Load button (right to preset name) - it opens a browser (a fantastic one) with plenty of presets to familiarize yourself with the specific filters and configurations.

Some of those filters are actually quiete useful. Shame there is no parallel ones to choose. But you can always load 2nd instance.
Reaper integration is a bomb and probably pushin me to purchase the upgrade.
Too bad its not replacing previous EQ4, since Pro is making it redunant and it makes no sense to keep it installed other than past compability

That's what I'm thinking too. Does this mean there will be an Equalizer 5 (non-Pro) as well in the future which will purely be an upgrade of Equalizer 4 with no removed features?cpsmusic wrote: Mon Sep 02, 2024 9:12 am I guess what I'm getting at is, why not make the new EQ "Equalizer 5" and make EQ 4 a legacy item? Anyway, I'll be upgrading.
Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

I think this effectively IS Equalizer 5...but he's leaving the option for Equalizer 4 just in case someone doesn't want/need all the extra options, I guess?AdvancedFollower wrote: Mon Sep 02, 2024 8:10 pmThat's what I'm thinking too. Curious to see what TB would do for a revamped Compressor and Barricade.

It does sound good at any rate, I don't like the sales pressure tactic of a limited time upgrade, if not
for the fact that this is jeroen, I wouldn't buy it at all. In fact I might not buy it, not like I really need another dynamic eq, and my audio channel count tops out at 2.

It's quite a powerful and innovative product, but I don't like various things, so I think I'm going to pass on this one:
1) All ToneBoosters upgrade offers, including this one from EQ4 to EQ Pro, are time-limited; I have EQ4 registered, I'm not going to upgrade soon, and I think the duration of the offer hasn't been declared
2) I'd like to know why the saturation was removed, was it working bad?
3) To be a comprehensive EQ plugin, linear phase is still missing (Jeroeen explained already the reason in the Toneboosters Facebook page though)
4) I don't like the fact that lately Toneboosters plugins have a fair amount of updates near the release date, and then they stay without significant enhancements (DualVCF has a lot of potential in this regard but it hasn't had updates for a while, same for others.
5) I would have hoped to see CLAP support, it doesn't seem the case.
