Do I smell PowerWinds? PowerPercussion?
I think it's great that MSoundFactory is getting these types of expansions. It'd be hard to pass up MSoundFactoryLE for people getting into it with a full suite of orchestral libraries. Very cool.

Thanks a lot Melda! <3
Lots of good sounds in there. A few more round robins wouldn't have hurt in some places though. Hey 3rd part devs - C'mon! Not that I have the money for expensive libraries, but surely these initial libraries could start attracting other makers?

It's written that works from v17.01
I'm happy to see these instruments on MSF, i hope they will cover all the orchestral elements, the guitars also rythimcs, like NI does, would be really good.

Agreed! I would especially love some large guitar libraries with lots of articulations. It's time for the N.I. monopoly to end.Frankie.T wrote: Wed Sep 04, 2024 7:04 pmIt's written that works from v17.01

Actually, I shouldn't say it yet, but in about 2 weeks we start a huge orchestra sampling action for high end orchestra. Just the sampling will take till Christmas

That's incredibly exciting news. I'll try to be patient... but I'm anxious to see what you all are cooking up. I'm sure it'll be something special. Thanks for continually expanding your products.MeldaProduction wrote: Wed Oct 02, 2024 11:09 am Actually, I shouldn't say it yet, but in about 2 weeks we start a huge orchestra sampling action for high end orchestra. Is this going to be more in the vein of stuff like Spitfire and Orchestral ToolsMeldaProduction wrote: Wed Oct 02, 2024 11:09 am Actually, I shouldn't say it yet, but in about 2 weeks we start a huge orchestra sampling action for high end orchestra. Just the sampling will take till Christmas![]()

And now that you are onto the sampling process, one idea that hasn't yet been accomplished and that could particularly benefit from Melda's wide and deep effect platform: Record a specific library of Orchestral high frequency content, that is; resonant high scales from high pitch piccolos, triangles, gongs, also including fast fills, brass shrills, "Sarasate" violin and dense articulations. In sum, all that you may think of, that produces high overtones and that one could guess has bat range frequency presence. (I would ask the musicians themselves and leave a socials point open for them or other channels to come later with ideas for such recordings)
Then record this specific library at high sample rates, say 96 kHz of course and ideally at 192 or 384 kHz as well. At 2024, and more so soon, our sound editors; SpectraLayers 11 and SoundForge 18 are already able to handle those and some DAWs as well.
What we could obtain by slowing down and effecting these nuanced and high freq content sounds in terms of resulting high quality material for sound creation and effects, as might be produced by the Melda Production platform, has yet to be listened!
Plus, cinema and slow motion videos are already using these Hi-Res formats.
Note that Zoom and Tascam have field and studio recorders of such specs. Even Tascam has available online a free editor specifically for these high frequency sounds.

I'm using SoundFactory v17 (VST3) in Debian 12 with wine-staging 9.18 (tkg version) and Yabridge in REAPER Linux native 7.23.mevla wrote: Sat Sep 14, 2024 1:28 pmHave you tried v17 on Linux yet ? I had to set the plugin in REAPER as "run as separated process" because in full native there are mouse right-click deadlock issues but excluding that SoundFactory 17 seems pretty solid.
Hope it helps,
Mario
