maybe somehow it blacklisted it ?

I have no issus on BitWig / Cubase / Reaper / Logic / StudioOne / FLStudio. Tested with all.

Nice release, well done KV331! :tu:

Sounds great, and I was amazed how many oscillators and oscillator types that are available for each layer, looking forward to getting into the details. Many of the SEQ patches were really inspiring! :love:

Only problem I have right now is that it's not found by Komplete Kontrol.
I've done a rescan, and on the Plugin page in KK preferences, I can see SM3 after that.
But in the Library View it doesn't show up, any suggestions?

W10, Ableton 11, latest KK.

I've tried to rescan my plugin folder and get this error. I've already uninstalled and reinstalled. Any other suggestions?

"C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\SynthMaster3.vst3

com.bitwig.flt.library.metadata.reader.exception.CouldNotReadMetadataException: could not read metadata: Communications error with plugin host process
exit code:-1073741819
stdout:

I should add that the software was working but then my computer Blue Screened. I then updated SM3 and haven't been able to use it since...

Update on this: In a couple of weeks, I am planning to provide unofficial NKS 1.5 support for SynthMaster 3. I am saying unofficial because normally we have to go through a process with Native Instruments, but right now I don't have time to deal with them.

For now, only the first 16 parameters will be exposed to NKS -> 8 macros + 8 XY pads.

EDIT: Here it is :hihi: Once I finish creating all previews for all presets, I will release v3.0.2 update which will include the NKS stuff.

^I thought this had changed, but if you have SM2, you can dl the expansions into SM3.

I'm still completely unable to use the synth. I have uninstalled it and will leave it for a few weeks. Despite how great it sounds, it's much more buggy than anything else I've got and I have only limited time for music which I'm not going to spend trying to figure out what's wrong with one synth. Hopefully some of the kinks are ironed out soon because it's literally unusable for me right now.

will try that now that i've also installed SM2. meanwhile... for your issues, what computer, OS? what DAW?

Bitwig, Windows 10.

Bitwig is telling me SM3 is not installed correctly. I've had it crash the audio engine in Bitwig as well- something is literally not playing nicely with something else. I think a completely clean install of SM3 is required. Probably need to delete subfolders etc but not sure where all are located on Windows.

Let us know if you got onto those expansions.

Try this:

Mac:
1. Delete /Users/Shared/SynthMaster3
2. Delete Documents/SynthMaster3 (backup your presets/license key file if necessary)
3. Delete /Library/Application Support/KV331 Audio/SynthMaster3

Win:
1. Delete C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\SynthMaster3
2. Delete My Documents\SynthMaster3 (backup your presets/license key file if necessary)
3. Delete C:\Program Files\KV331 Audio\SynthMaster3

4. Reinstall SynthMaster 3
5. Run your DAW

Olnium wrote: Mon Sep 02, 2024 10:01 pm I tried to load a couple of different SFZ instruments into the multisampler and SM3 just hung while trying to import the samples so I had to kill the process. Also crashed Bitwig's Plugin Sandbox on another attempt. Following this, SM3 wouldn't launch, even after a DAW and PC restart. I fixed the issue by following instructions from an earlier post where I had to amend SynthMasterSamplesFolders.txt by deleting the sample paths of the offending SFZs.
I am glad to tell you that the hang during WAV reading issue is fixed now, the fix will be in v3.0.2. I tested with all free Zampler multisamples, no issues so far!

For those of you who have multiple folders full of WAV / SFZ files, here's a better workflow instead of importing files:

Edit <public documents folder>/SynthMaster3/SynthMasterSamplesFolders.txt file as follows:

Type=SynthMaster Folder Locations
Version=1.0
SamplePaths1=<root folder location to WAV/SFZ files>

Glad to hear it, I've been enjoying the granular OSCs for ambient/pad layers a lot, but having to manually fix the broken .txt entries whenever SM3 chokes on a quirky sample is a real bummer for experimentation.

Would be interesting if that could be improved:
a.) only write the path to the library after successful import.
b.) somehow decouple/failsafe sample loading so that an unreadable sample does throw an error but doesn't choke SM3.

Cheers!

Would be cool to be able to edit user folders right within SM3.
I'm sure a lot of people would use this feature more if it would be accessible for instance from the settings panel with a button that would open a window with a list where one could easily add and remove paths to custom folders.

Editing a text file somewhere is totally doable of course, but rather disconnected workflow wise.
