LaLivre wrote: Fri Sep 06, 2024 10:11 am I've read that it's impossible to transfer the Rack Extensions you've purchased (not to mention you can't sell them). At the very least, it would be a minimum of decency and morality to transfer the RE licenses with your copy of Reason to the new buyer.

What an unbelievable slander, this completely regressive behavior of a company has no future. :dog: :dog: :dog:

See their last paragraph:

Ugh! They leave you no choice but to loathe them.
I believe that the no Resale of RE's Is in Breach with EU's Laws.
... and the new must-have "once a year activation" shit maybe, too.

Where to report those violations?

Seeing a lot of people selling their Reason licenses. I guess people are moving on.

I am with the Suite+Objekt and still well. Only wish that there was full offline auth with no restrictions.

I use Reason a lot as a plugin... a very modular one. And that's the way I see them identifying it as well.
Few people use it as a DAW.

R12 has 1 year offline auth... That's not so bad...

So you have Objekt and not Friktion ? How dare you ?

Because of how I use it. YMMV
And since They themselves concentrate on the plugin aspect of it... just saying

They don't give a shit about the sequencer, mixer, etc... they want to sell you more Rack Extensions. Period

Or pray on the ones who used it from day one by glueing them to their subscription...

You know that that makes literally zero sense at all, right?

Selective perception at its best...

Since I'm made of the small amount of people wo does not use it as a DAW, I am part of the small percentage.
How does that not make sense?
It makes perfect sense, just not in a way you like.

I am still on V12 and I have all the Re's I wanted so I am not Forced Into Subscription and I will not upgrade to V13 Because of the Upgrade price and the New Browser window.

All the functions that matters in this V13 Update is also in V12 without being in the way like they are in V13.

I have been happy with V12 for many years now and this Company is known for Slowly upgrading what they want to see in the Program and it has been this way since V1 so i don't keep my hopes up when a new version is Released.

Almost all of the feature requests in the Past when they had their own forum was usually met with that it didn't fit their Vision of the product so it won't be added to the product and by the look of it it seems like that policy is still active.

So the only thing you can do is be happy with how it is now or Sell it and Move on to something else or wait until there is a Update worth upgrading to.

A lot of Reason users sell their perpetual license and switch over to Reason+ as soon as they realize that R+ is the much cheaper option for them.

I have enough points to get Friktion today for free :ud: Maybe I should...

I am fine with 1 year auth, I use it myself, but it's just I'm worried what might happen in case that system might stop working.

How exactly would it be cheaper?

It depends what kind of user you are.
If Reason's stock devices are enough for you, a perpetual license would be best.
But if you want to use most of Reason's synths and players and want to keep your DAW up to date, a Reason+ subscription might be much cheaper for you.
Just do the math. How much do all of Reason's Rack Extensions cost and how many years of Reason+ could you buy with that money?
Also consider that Reason releases a new RE once a year ($99) and a new Reason version every 2/3 years ($199).
On top of that Reason+ users get better support and sound packs.
If you're already heavily invested in Rack Extensions by Reason Studios you will of course stick to your perpetual license but for users who are not so much invested, Reason+ might be more attractive.
