Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Fri Sep 06, 2024 4:13 pm I hope the springs are better than the ones in ToneX. If yes, Peter, please find a way to incorporate those in ToneX. The ToneX springs are definitely a weak point.
I’d have to load up Tonex and see how they compare, I don’t recall tonex having a bad spring reverb though.

The Dual Spring plugin seems to be more inline with UAD AKG BX20 and Klanghelms spring reverb in terms of quality and sound IMO. Not a fan of many other brands spring reverbs, I usually stick with UA, Klanghelms or the algorithm in my Eventide H90. Didn’t like the waves magma springs, u-he one etc.
To me, the best "drippy, surf guitar" spring reverb plugins are the Fuse Audio V-Rev63 (the one that looks like a Fender tank, not their 666 model) and the Mixwave Benson Tall Bird. Give those a try if you haven't yet. I've tried the others (own an H90 also) and don't rate them for use on guitar. But the V-Rev63 and Tall Bird are not too far off from my amp springs or my Surfy Bear unit.
+1 in regards to V-Rev63 - but also don't forget PSP Springbox.

Pulsar Primavera looks like it has potential to be in that elite class of drippy springs. Anyone get it yet?

No, too pricey.

Nothing is needed to reproduce other than starting Cubase and then trying to load Space Delay on a channel (either insert or send/return). I opened a support ticket, we'll see what they say and how long to fix.
Wow. An actual useful post amidst all the usual entitlement and other nonsense.

Did the T-Racks 5 version work well for you ? I'm on C13 but never used Space Delay except for the version inside MixBox.

I do use a bunch of other T-Racks 5 plugins tho, they all seem to work well, except Master Match which can crash both Cubase or Wavelab when loading reference tracks. Known issue, never fixed. Is that working well in the new version ?
T-Racks 5 was solid for me overall, but TBH I've never tried Master Match. I'll have to do that with this version. I came into T-Racks v5 relatively late in its life cycle. I'm not sure it was updated after I got it (which was acceptable for my use). I held off initially because I also use Bitwig and saw that users had specific issues in that DAW. So, until those were resolved and there was a terrific sale, I waited.

EDIT: I forgot to add that IK Support got back to me quickly this morning, confirming the issue and saying a report was filed with the devs. That's the first time I've ever contacted them, so I found it to be a positive experience getting a reply in less than 24 hours. Hopefully, an update will be released 'soon'.

Even the Contact IK Multimedia page is beautifully quaint in its brokenness - As part of my query I copy/pasted the extract blurb 'Existing owners of 50+ T-RackS processors or T-RackS 5 MAX v2 can get T-RackS 6 MAX for only $/€99.99*' explaining I had exactly that but wasn't getting the entire discount. This resulted in:
Error - Please check your fields and re-submit: Invalid characters used in Message field.
After multiple attempts trimming characters from the message it turns out that apparently currencies are invalid characters :D

Right from the days of Sonik Synth, ST3, ST4 max, Miroslav, then TR5 max, then Total studio Max....even after buying all this "loyally" I don't get the discount???

Still gotta pay $199?? Just because I don't have TR5 Max v2?? Heartbreak 💔 really...

How do you guys find out new ways to infuriate your loyal customers every freakin single time of a major release???

I feel I'm almost done with IKM now...

Don't wanna play this game anymore...

There are so many alternatives these days...
They think they are doing promos but what they are doing is to ruin brand equity and loyalty. Good idea to piss off your customers!

First I bought Amplitube for 299 then I’m like let’s support this company, i bought Studio Max for 399. Just to see a month later that they are selling it on Thomannmusic.com for $185. Does it make sense? Are you out of your mind?

If you want to do charity do charity, but don’t go and discount your product like that after you collected money from your real customers who trusted you.

Now after 2 months I bought Studio Max I should upgrade for 100EUR to Tracks 6?

Who knows tomorrow you will not offer it to a random person for free?

I’m done buying plugins if you can’t price your products properly don’t do it! Well done ruining your relationship with your paying customers!

Decide what your pricing should be then by God’s grace give 50% discount here and there (but give the discount on the upgrade as well) But all this deep discounts to random people who never supported you will make any paying customers to be very careful not to buy anything again.

My advice to all customers, be very careful with IKM, alas they don’t care about you.

Yeah and what do you do with Jam points? They are pretty much useless. Must be a genius running this company

TBlake wrote: Thu Sep 05, 2024 8:22 pm Sorry to inform you that IK is not giving a grace period to those that bought a month ago let alone 3 months ago. The sad reality is if you get into bed with a dog with fleas, you're going to get fleas. So I don't get in bed with predatory companies like IK
Or you can look at it like this: IK gave you the opportunity to buy-in to T-RackS at a super-low price which then qualifies you for a discount on T-RackS 6 MAX that's greater than what you paid for TR5.

Is it really unreasonable to pay some amount of money for a full version upgrade?
It only seems that way because T-RackS owners haven't had to do that since v2. But IK's developers need to eat, too, so eventually someone has to pay something.
I care about developers. Don't discount your plugin 75-90%! I paid 299 for Amplitube, 2 month ago I bought Studio Max for 399, I don't have any problem with that, now I should pay another 100 EUR to get an upgrade for just one component of the Studio Max? While guess what ... the Studio Max is sold at 185$ on thomannmusic.com as we speak.

If developers need to eat why are you deep discounting your products like that?

20 years ago i paid more than 400 € for Sample Tank 2 XL; soon came 2.5, which was a paid upgrade. i was in heaven. all the instruments at my fingertips! now compare, what you get now for a lot less, almost for nothing. one could get T-rackS 5 Max vol. 2 for 50 €, one could get Total Studio Max 4 for 200 € and use Jam Points. most of us got most of their IK stuff in groupbuys for cheap and now we have to pay 100 € to get the upgrade from T-rackS 5 Max 2 or at least 50 effects to vol 6 Max and almost everybody here takes a bath in his pool of tears. ridiculous!

IK, what is the compelling reason for us to upgrade ? Other then the 8 new modules, what has changed ? Have they also updated all the previous TR-5 modules ? I don't see the point in upgrading just to get 8 modules.

not entirely true. i got some amazing deals on sale items when i was able to stack jam points. the trick is to get in early right when the sale starts and use it before they update their system and prevent you from using jam points on sale items. ;-)

Depends on what you consider "compelling". I was going to copy/paste all the bullet points, but it's right there on their website: https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/tr6/

For me, it was the new plugins (a few of them are pretty great) and the GUI improvements, particularly the ability to resize easily. I don't particularly like paying for the latter, but my eyes get worse every year, and that's becoming more important. It makes a big difference in workflow for me and getting much better use of something I'm already invested in, so that's compelling.
