Nothing compelling that I can see...GUI updated?MeanMrMustard wrote: Sat Sep 07, 2024 12:12 pm IK, what is the compelling reason for us to upgrade ? Other then the 8 new modules, what has changed ? Have they also updated all the previous TR-5 modules ? I don't see the point in upgrading just to get 8 modules.
T-RackS 6 now available

I'm looking through the T-Racks catalogue. Am I right in thinking none of these Eqs have dynamic sidechain?
A lot of these plugins seem out of date compared to the competition, but the new stuff looks cool.

Sounds like a real spring to me. I like the Magma and the UAD AKG model as well.

The thing about springs is that they're very dynamic and non-linear - they get progessively "sproingy" with increased input (which shouldn't come as a surprise considering that it's literally a spring that gets excited by an audio-transducer that's fed by the program-material.)Scotty wrote: Sat Sep 07, 2024 7:44 pm Sounds like a real spring to me. So with convolution you're pretty much out of luck - and Magma Springs is convolution based.

Damn, thanks for the tip. I never knew you could use jam points early on in a sale and then they change the policy later, I'll give it a try next time.MidnightRunner wrote: Sat Sep 07, 2024 12:28 pmnot entirely true. i got some amazing deals on sale items when i was able to stack jam points. the trick is to get in early right when the sale starts and use it before they update their system and prevent you from using jam points on sale items.![]()

It is fully algorithmic, no convolution.
It sounds exceptional to my ears.

Good information, thanks. I have tended to use it conservatively and perhaps haven’t pushed it where some of you want to take it.

And they've been doing the same, via insane group-buys etc. for years. As someone else pointed out, loyalty is a two-way street.SoftSynthLover99 wrote: Thu Sep 05, 2024 11:04 pm They pretty much gave away Total Studio 4 MAX and t-Racks 5 MAX v2 a few weeks ago at insanely low prices.

I think they added side chaining to the compressors, but none of the others. The glaring omission is the lack of a dynamic eq. Also, reverbs and delays still don’t have ducking.J Veronica wrote: Sat Sep 07, 2024 6:59 pm I'm looking through the T-Racks catalogue. Most of the older plugins in the bundle are just fillers by todays standards. The newer ones sounds great but lacks in features (gain compensation, mix knob, over sampling on export etc) unfortunately.

I have a suspicion Total Studio 5 will be releasing soon which will of course include T-Racks 6. If you own TS4 Max it's probably best to wait and upgrade the entire bundle, otherwise you'll end up paying for T-Racks 6 twice (once as a standalone upgrade and once again as part of TS5 Max).mambo888 wrote: Sat Sep 07, 2024 11:05 amI care about developers. Don't discount your plugin 75-90%! I paid 299 for Amplitube, 2 month ago I bought Studio Max for 399, I don't have any problem with that, now I should pay another 100 EUR to get an upgrade for just one component of the Studio Max? While guess what ... the Studio Max is sold at 185$ on thomannmusic.com as we speak.jamcat wrote: Thu Sep 05, 2024 8:48 pmOr you can look at it like this: IK gave you the opportunity to buy-in to T-RackS at a super-low price which then qualifies you for a discount on T-RackS 6 MAX that's greater than what you paid for TR5.TBlake wrote: Thu Sep 05, 2024 8:22 pm Sorry to inform you that IK is not giving a grace period to those that bought a month ago let alone 3 months ago. The sad reality is if you get into bed with a dog with fleas, you're going to get fleas. So I don't get in bed with predatory companies like IK
Is it really unreasonable to pay some amount of money for a full version upgrade?
It only seems that way because T-RackS owners haven't had to do that since v2. But IK's developers need to eat, too, so eventually someone has to pay something.
If developers need to eat why are you deep discounting your products like that?
Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

We don't limit/disable JamPoints on sale items, they just don't combine with coupon codes which the $/€50 and $/€100 off T-RackS 6 MAX upgrade deals use.MidnightRunner wrote: Sat Sep 07, 2024 12:28 pmnot entirely true. i got some amazing deals on sale items when i was able to stack jam points. the trick is to get in early right when the sale starts and use it before they update their system and prevent you from using jam points on sale items.![]()

I bought all of the v5 plugins over time. If I was to consider upgrading to v6 (everything T-RackS v6), what is my best route? Is there a particular page you can point me to? I've written to support but have received no reply. I find it difficult to navigate your website.
Will be upgrade be available from BestService etc?
Thank you Peter.

It'd be the T-RackS 6 Max one here (scroll down a little, the one on the very right) BUT ONLY WHEN they manage to sort of the discount code for those like you (and me) that have all the v5 plugins but for some reason the checkout isn't identifying that to be the case, so not offering the full €100 discountAloysius wrote: Mon Sep 09, 2024 4:54 pm I bought all of the v5 plugins over time.
