I mentioned this in another post; but after thinking about it, from a code point of view, it actually seem more plausible.
There are limitations to tracker matrix composition. But MuLab has those missing strengths already. I initially thought one would need to reinvent the traditional tracker matrix grid to accommodate greater potentials. But after thinking about it, why bother. The beauty of tracking is it's simplicity, speed, and fun.
Nothing in the matrix grid or pattern sequencing cannot already be paralleled in MuLab's composer/editor.
If one Tracker track uses more than one instrument, Mulab would just have separate midi clips for each instrument initialized.
The same is true with matrix grid automation and even pattern sequences. If someone reorganizes pattern sequences, there is nothing preventing it from being paralleled in the MuLab composer.
Someone could then enjoy the ease of sketching out quick/fun ideas, in a tracker mode; while still having the potential to expand on the resolution and details of the project. Not to mention, tracking on top of MuLabs powerful tools.
One would need to assign or show what instrument gets what tracker designation. But that is a simple problem.
Ah, probably a pipe dream.

i still remember the first instances of mulab (muzys) and it looked a lot like a tracker
the way you could trigger/schedule sequences has always called / resonated upon/with me
now, it (mulab) resembles a more sequential approach (which is more in line with a song / audio)

Don't forget about MuLab's Live Matrix:
(wish i could replace the voice on that video without replacing the whole video)

For the record, there is nothing wrong with submitting your own feature requests for your own software.MuTools wrote: Wed Oct 30, 2024 11:19 am (wish i could replace the voice on that video without replacing the whole video)
