Has anybody tried the PRS Silver Sky? I've been wanting to give those a try for a while now.

Robert Cray might say otherwise.

Nashville style Tele with a tummy cut. Don't currently have one, it will almost certainly be a partscaster if I ever do get one. None of my currently playable guitars have a trem, I'm ok with that.

I always take 'em off. Got enough to be concentrating on with the sausage fingers on plectrum and fretboard, without having some other weird distraction thingie.

I like them in some contexts, but, I could never have one as my only guitar, especially live. My current nashville doesn't have a tummy cut, but, I do have a godin stratish-thing that does and also has a trem. Unfortunately, it also has a five-way that needs to be replaced and Godin, in their infinite wisdom, did not use a standard sized switch and also doesn't have a replacement part.

I'm most likely going to just have a custom pickguard made for it that uses a standard strat switch mount and eliminates the humbucker in the bridge. Did I mention that I hate bridge humbuckers in a strat?

Fender Player Plus Nashville Telecaster has a belly cut.

Yes, I've nearly purchased several over the years. I also almost purchase the 3k american signature model with the excessively heavy b-bender until good sense caught up and ripped out the crowbar that I was trying to wedge into my wallet with an excessive amount of "justification lube." I also like the para-normal tele, except that it doesn't have a belly cut.

No, I'm most likely going to continue my partscaster trend and just rebuild my current nashville partscaster. I'm just reluctant to take it apart at the moment. It already has a shit finish, so I'm ok with trying to create the tummy cut myself and if I screw it up, oh well, I'll just get a new cheap body. From what I've seen online, it's not that hard to do as long as you have basic power toosl.

My G&L tele has a belly cut, I don't really care for it... tho I don't really care about it either...

Yeah, I've almost purchased a G&L a few times now. There's always been something about them that killed the deal for whatever reason. I think that, at the end of the day, I like parts-casters. I like the mix and match approach and standardization of parts. I have a handful of pickups including a couple of hot-rails tele pickups that I'm going to build my next parts-caster with. The only reason that it isn't finished is that I can't find the hot orange body that I picked up a few years back. I have the neck, sans decal, and I think all of the other parts that I need. I'm not sure completely how I'm going to wire it yet, but, it will be rail humbuckers in both positions so I'll probably experiment with a five way to get some off tones.

Once that's put together, I'm going to take apart my current nashville partscaster and refinish the body. If it sucks, I'll just toss it and buy a finished body from someone else. Then I'm going to do a bit of work on the electronics.

Does anyone have experience with ordering custom water slide decals?

I've tried a few G&L''s they were always too big for me.

If I'm stetting there must be some type of belly cut. If I'm standing it's less important.

Tele's are slowly losing their appeal to me. Only because I have two and I play the Blacktop HH vintage modified (MIM) every day The super modified 19 CIC doesn't get the play time in because it's a pine body and cuts of either the circulation to my leg or to my neck. That being said I still want the Sire Larry Carlton T7 FM which sounds almost nothing like a tele to me even though it's got the shape.

I like the G&L's tho I probably won't get another. I got a killer deal on the one I got since they wanted to sell it. $1800, vs about $3k as configured from the custom shop. Seemingly vendors can get them quite a bit cheaper than a regular customer.

I really want a Suhr, if I buy anything it will probably be one of those.

The ones you can get on eBay are pretty good. I ordered 200 and about 180 of them were useable. The seller actually designed the logo for me and did a better job than I could have done.

Oh yeah, G&L are terrific. Bit trickier to get in Europe depending on the exact location. Don't think there's a dealer near me and Thomann doesn't carry them. Haven't checked in a while (since I'm not exactly in the market) so I don't know which of the other EU online retailers carry them.

A hardtail Comanche may well be my dream strat actually. Possibly with a neck humbucker.

But then again: who wants to listen to stuff like that? Guitar makers really shouldn't encourage silly stunts like that with their instruments...
