Mac? Pffft.... No!Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Thu Sep 19, 2024 3:12 pmAre you a Mac user? When people talk about it being ugly, it's mostly Windows users complaining about the non-themeable OS-drawn windows/screens. Examples: the FX Chain window, the border of the FX window when floating, or the Preferences screen, etc. This stuff isn't themeable without hacky workarounds and doesn't obey dark/light theme preferences within Windows. So yeah...ugly on Windows and not fixable via ReaperThemes/Appearance Tweaker.audiojunkie wrote: Thu Sep 19, 2024 2:55 pm And for those who think it's ugly, it is constanly getting graphics updates--you can make it look like pretty much anything these days.
Totally different experience on the Mac where those same OS-drawn windows actually look nice and light/dark mode preferences are obeyed. Reaper actually looks nice on MacOS. I use both and it's a big difference.
That said, the Reaper devs will tell you it's a Microsoft/Windows issue because they don't make it easy to have nice looking OS-drawn screens on the Windows side of the house in a way that's backwards/forwards compatible.

Plus I also see a new synth, a bucket brigade style chorus, ARA2 improvements, a coffee-machine, a bag of fish&chips, a HowTo on homemade bombs, an e-book reader, and a "your daily Haiku"-tool.
but the new tools are calling
coffee a la DAW

Yes - assuming the development team stays exactly the same, so will its development-pace.SLiC wrote: Thu Sep 19, 2024 2:16 pm Not to mention a lot of the upgrades are pretty small or not relevant to your workflow so are very skippable...its very easy to go 2 years or more and miss next to nothing...no GAS or FOMO, you just get used to it...its their when you want it.
So regardless of whether you chose to renew every year or every second, the whole amount of features after two years will be identical to what it would be if they had stayed with the two-year cycle.
But if this change brings them new funds and they subsequently decide and manange to increase their output, so will your VFM.

Servco>Fender>Presonus
Gotta love shareholders with majority stake. For any that may not understand, when Presonus said in their emails and promos about Presonus 7 that "Your Feedback" was the reason they did this upgrade strategy, what they really mean is "Servco>Fender Feedback". Not your feedback

Looks like it could be either a clip launcher or some hybrid sampler track that's similar to what cubase has.

They really are pushing this narrative that it's us users who were demanding this, and not their backers, aren't they?vertibration wrote: Thu Sep 19, 2024 6:36 pm For any that may not understand, when Presonus said in their emails and promos about Presonus 7 that "Your Feedback" was the reason they did this upgrade strategy, what they really mean is "Servco>Fender Feedback". When in reality users have been soundly rejecting it every time they try to repackage the same subscription model. Reminds me of politicians hellbent on pushing through their agendas regardless of what the public says.

Well that looks like absolute shit. What's with the rounded corners on the audio parts?
They've really dumbed it down beyond recognition. It's a pass for me, for the first time.

This piece of shit on the right side with 'Scenes' must be the clip launcher?
Did they replace the vastly more useful Scratchpad with it?
