Since Mac Users Won't Be Able To Buy The PC Intro...

Well, it's all not been set in stone, yet.
I would say no, because PC users had the advantage to sign in into the Group Buy last June. Zebra 2 will also not come to the Mac with any special introduction price. The introduction offer made for Zebra 1.0 more than a year ago was for a product that has not much in common with the current Zebra anymore. Meanwhile, Zebra has established quite well in the studios with a good reputation, so any introduction offer wouldn't make much sense.
Filterscape is different, because the introduction offer was made during a time when it was still a fresh product that hadn't really left the beta process.
The introduction offer for Filterscape PC will certainly take place during its public beta phase. As I want to minimize support overhead, it's absolutely possible that the PC version will be beta tested for 4 weeks or longer. That means, it will more or less be freely usuable for a long period, and the introduction offer will make it easier for people to buy it despite having a fully functional copy on their desktops
In opposition to that, Zebra will certainly not be made public beta. I will offer early beta testing to those who have already bought the PC version, and to selected PC users, mostly those who already have Zebra running on a Mac and also own a PC and to those I know in person (which alltogether is a bunch of more than 100 people now, so, uhm, yes...).
Cheers,
Urs

Hrmmmm...
So PC users should have paid 8-14 months ahead of time if they wanted an intro rate?
Can there at least be a group buy or something?
I'm po'!

Well, at the time of the Group Buy, it was 2-3 months in advance, without need to pay until it's out. Unfortunately, we didn't succeed in porting Zebra at that time, you know the story.
Honestly, when Zebra's LUG Group Buy came up, I havn't known that it (and CamelAudio's Cameleon shortly thereafter) would unleash a whole wave of pseudo-Group Buys. In my opinion, this has rendered the whole idea of LUG Group Buys void. It used to be a special event for *selected* products, and now that everybody and his auntie copies it, it's a redundant 15-minute hype. I have no plans to do another action like this. I'll rather deliver other goodies instead.
Cheers,
Urs

if there were one or two pc users in that very tiny group that paid for MFM, would that fact help them become possible beta testers for zebra pc?

Well, I havn't even written one line of code on the PC. Mostly because the development tools havn't arrived... and who knows how long it takes... and what obstacles turn up... we'll seeMuff Wiggler wrote:should I email you? i don't want to pressure you to start the beta, i know how busy you are with many cool things

Other people bought the coolest and wackest delay unit ever? That's crazy! Almost as crazy as me trying to figure out what's going on with Zebra since I joined the GB but never paid. Oh well. Something will be worked out, somehow. Even if I have to do something as mind-boggling as paying the full price for a synth that's worth it.

hmm, confused... Those of us who got in the June GB, but didn't pay yet - the GB price is still valid when Zebra PC is released, right?
