I would love to see a subforum for plugins only

I own a lot of Tracktion plugins, but do not use Tracktion as a DAW. To find plugin related threads is a pain, as the relation of DAW to plugin threads is about 50:1…
I would like to know if I am the only one. Though even this thread might be overlooked for the same reason… (unless it gets sticky… ; - )

Your request sounds reasonable, yes, could be helpful to have such subforum.
Did you contact a forum maintainer or moderator about this? Maybe by private message?
I found their contact data on this page:

My post is also a test if the mods even listen. They have the chance to comment here. I also wanted to see how much this resonates with other non-Waveform users, but they might show up here too rarely…

This forum is sometimes visited by Tracktion related personal, yes, mainly by @Figbug, and he is supportive.
But different than in the far past this forum officially is only user to user communication nowadays.
You need to directly contact them if you want to reach out for Tracktion personal for sure.

some updates to the daw essentials fx would be nice:
#TCompressor - needs a mix knob (since the daw's wet/dry sliders aren't aligned) and the ability to use its filter on the internal detector/internal sidechain rather than external only.
#TEqualizer - the stock 8band EQ is great for clean, dynamic behavior, so maybe update this one with some non-linear options as an analog flavored complement. this plugin is obsolete as is.
#TReverber8 - ability to export the generated IR as .wav for use in more full featured convolvers or to share in collaborator projects
#TCrossover - stability improvements in the low band
#TAutoFilter - more filter options and their nonlinear behaviors with a gain/drive knob e.g ladder/SEM/sallen-key etc. pitch tracking or midi input/key tracking would be amazing as well

I don't use any of these plugins but I was just having a look at #TEqualiser and #TCrossover out of curiosity, in Plugin Doctor and in the DAW, and they're not great. Crossover does seem to have some wobbles in the low band, maybe similar to the old 8 band eq bug? (now fixed, the 8 band eq seems to work great and behave as expected)ajawasthi wrote: Fri Sep 13, 2024 4:12 am some updates to the daw essentials fx would be nice:

TEqualiser just seems to fall apart when pushed. Not sure exactly but seems like internal clipping when applying large gain boosts, aliasing or at least weird distortion in the top end, cramping (high shelf acts more like a bell). Compared to a modern eq like Kirchoff, which is just perfectly clean, it's a bit of a shame, but as I said the 8 band eq is fine if somewhat limited. It would be good to see some improvements in the stock plugins, I agree.

If these would be the stock plugins coming with Waveform FREE then there wouldn't be any reason to complain. But they are marketed as some extra quality features coming delivered with the PRO version, and such promotion for the "15 Refreshed Audio Effects" and the "Utility Plugins" is cringey.

all that said, I don't want to come down too hard on this because for the most part they are good and i got big love for figbugs work (opensource/socalabs, etc) and his improvements to the daw itself are more important than updating the essentials pack (which is also on his resume)
just saying...it would be nice

I would personally find it useful, but perhaps for a different reason. I do use the DAW, but often get fatal errors with third-party plugins. Having a place to discuss experiences with plugins within the Waveform DAW sure could be helpful.

As Talby said up top, Tracktion itself doesn't moderate this forum area. Jules and TSC (Woody) do, and they haven't been to this part of KVR in a very long while. It's a fine idea of course, but if either of these two guys don't respond or participate, there's no chance of it happening.
Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and even Deezer, whatever the hell Deezer is.

Good to know. In which case, if I have a request/suggestion or a problem, how do I get in touch with the developers?Watchful wrote: Sun Sep 22, 2024 10:14 pm As Talby said up top, Tracktion itself doesn't moderate this forum area. Suggestions can be posted in this forum--FigBug, one of Tracktion's core developers, is here pretty frequently.
Bugs and problems can be posted here if folks like us know how to solve them or work around them, otherwise we'll direct you to Tracktion's ZenDesk system--I've found them VERY responsive.
