I want to render all my VSTi tracks to wav ready for mixing. I have SampleTank with a bass outputting on ST's internal audio outputs 3&4. It's in a rack as I have drums on 1&2. In Tracktion, I have to choose left output comes from:Bass and right output comes from:Bass which means I always end up with a stereo file when rendering. Is there a way to force the result to be mono? Or do I have to convert the stereo file to mono in a wave editor?
Point is I don't need a stereo file for bass nor drums.

when you render in Tracktion, just select the mono option.

Internally tracktion handles everything as stereo.

Theres no way that I know of yet. You can export a mono file if you really want. But its not as quick as rendering it. I just put up with the stereo file instead of converting them in a wave editor. It takes a little more space but other than that it doesnt bother me or affect any mixes.

I think T's basic audio editing options includes a convert to mono.. :?:

Yeah, just checked:

Select the clip;

view source info -> edit audio file -> basic editing operations -> make mono

then choose how to combine the channels..

To me its easier just to leave it stereo. Damn I'm lazy :-o :D .

Thanks a lot guys. I like my projects to be neat and tidy but in this case might just stick with the lazy way.
