There are 5 days left for the new version, and all we have are speculations, why don't they reveal anything at least a few days before?

While this update is fine, I'm a bit sceptical about their intention to speed the development up to 4 releases per year. PreSonus' devs are great, but still not sure this rate of updates is manageable. Bitwig initially started with the same sentiment of several updates per Update Plan period, but with proper pre-release testing and post-release bug fixing ended on 2 at best.

Thanks for mentioning this. I feel like they kind of nailed the core proposition a couple of versions ago, and are now looking for new avenues of development, hence the new target demographic. But a move to calver from semver happening at the same time as a pricing adjustment...I'm not 100% convinced yet. They've definitely created a bunch of pressure for themselves to keep delivering value to their userbase, especially as they've explicitly committed to feature updates, not just support updates.

... which, for a properly mature product, is just stupid. There comes a point when it's done, when it's as good as it needs to be. Sure, new technology, like CLAP, pops up from time to time but not enough for 4 meaningful updates a year.

I think they'd have been smarter to split the code-base and make a different product with a clip launcher. That way they'd be able to sell two products to a lot of people instead of just one, as I've done when I bought an Artist license, a couple of years after I'd bought a Pro license.

Will they surprise us and have a demo available on the 9th for potential perpetual upgraders?

Or will we have to wait for weeks like we did in the past?

I tend to follow the money when I want to understand something. Evidently the executives at Fender/Presonus still see a lot of disposable income out there and they need a way to capture it in a very saturated market. Will they succeed? There's really tough competition out there that is either free or close to it.

They said in the video there would be more announced prior to the release right?

Bitwig has wiggle room for intuitive devices, and even they dont hit that 4 updates a year mark. Presonus I think is overestimating a lot of what they will be able to do.

Not overestimating, more like overstating.

Why are vendors being coy all of a sudden? New PR philosophy?
