Could someone please explain to me if these Beatmaker plugins work as "standalone" plugins in my DAW or do i need a host application to run them? I mean, can I buy just one plugin (UJAM Instruments Beatmaker VICE Plugin) and it works as it is in my Reaper or in Logic Pro? Or is it like an add-on that i need to buy an app for?
Thanks in advance
Thanks in advance

Yeah, they are standalone, and work as a VST Instrument in your DAW - if I understand your concern it's not like buying a Kontakt library where you need another application to run them in.jankhner wrote: Thu Oct 03, 2024 10:44 am Could someone please explain to me if these Beatmaker plugins work as "standalone" plugins in my DAW or do i need a host application to run them?
Although if you wanted to be nit-picky what they provide is a set of samples and MIDI patterns, and if you have both of those, and you don't have any issues with your workflow they may be redundant.

Thank you! That's exactly what I wanted to know!

So plug-in boutique is not learning their lesson. They have Elsa end dates on the pictures of their stuff again, but when you go to sort. Y date it doesn’t work. They are going to miss making some sales again and then they will learn their lesson? It’s not that hard to sort end dates (and beginning dates) in a database and display them correctly. They should fire their tech team. I am certain they noticed sales dipped at the end of last month and that’s the only reason they said what they said before, but it looks like they are going to have to lose more money to find someone competent. I]they should go back to what they had before. This new layout sucks a$$.

For the Steven Slate Drums expansion sale---do the expansions work in the free versions of Steven Slate Drums and Trigger, or only the paid? Bit odd that they just have the expansions on sale... and don't seem to make it clear on the product pages whether they require the paid versions of SSD/Trigger. And for each expansion they have an SSD version and a Trigger version to purchase separately---not sure which I'd prefer. I was leaning towards Trigger, since I've been going in more of an "electronic drums and acoustic drum samples layered together" direction recently... but it looks like they're soon going to have "Groove AI" to intelligently match drum patterns to your tracks for SSD but not Trigger (probably going to charge extra for it too?).
[Edit: it looks like the "Groove AI" uses AI to match your track to preexisting drum midi, and then also has a randomization function of some sort---not clear if the randomization is intelligently humanized randomization based on artificial neural networks trained on non-quantized drum midi or just a more conventional non-machine-learning-based randomizer.]

as opposed to end of 2021 when I bought it for $49 because it was cheap and the "... final chance to own ..." back then. Go figure

Question:
Since all the AIR stuff is on sale atm -
I have a few things already that I would install on my laptop but haven't used any of their software after AIR had this "we kill your Windows system with our messed up installer" desaster(which as far as I can remember was because of an old included Ilok software).
Has this been fully resolved and everything is save to install now ?
(I realize that I might be years too late for this question but couldn't really find a definitive answer to that anywhere)

It seems you can nevet trust them for long time support and updates etc
And when people are left back, they cant get in touch with support when needed
Etc Etc
F.eks. For a long periode Structure was not working on PC, though their site claimed so,
to the extend that Plougin Boutique stopped selling it. So AIR didnt even know where
their own plugs would run, or they had an direct intention to miss-lead customers
Guess its all worthless that way ?

I've got all of Air's older software, apart from Strike 2, and it all runs fine on my Win11 machine.Nobdi wrote: Sat Oct 05, 2024 8:48 am Question:

Sorry if this is slightly off topic, but does anyone know of a better discount for Synthesizer V than either the Dreamtronics or Dlsite.com sites?
I would love to buy from dlsite.com due to being 1/3 cheaper (assuming you use the 30% off code for signing up), but boy do they make it difficult if you don't live in Japan or have a JCB creditcard; confirmed with customer support there's no way unless you buy points through 3rd party websites run by companies I've never heard of. And even then you have to use Shop Pay and other garbage. (Their paypal option disappeared recently.)
