It’s certainly up there, it’s an absolute winner for creative midi editing as the flow of interesting max based midi tools and generators arrive, these are seemlessly integrated now, it’s as good as it gets for that type of thing…but traditional midi editing is more personal preference and FL Studio is still pretty strong in this regard.
I'm not sure as I have no measurable evidence but as if midi would be tighter when sequencing external hardware (comparing to previous versions). So on the top of all the new midi features they might have improved upon their midi timing too (less jitter), I don't know

Can someone please confirm what version of Max is included with Live 12.1?

Currently, as of Live 12.0.25, the included version of Max is 8.6.2. TIA.

EDIT: Looks to be 8.6.4 per the 12.1 beta release notes. However, I don't see any mention of the "Floating Window" bug being fixed. I reported this to Ableton and Cycling '74 six months ago.

They finally rolled out a PDF version of the 12 manual, now they just need to constantly update it as they improve Live..

:hihi: I think they had a lot of users Bee-otch about the lack of a manual for Live12 this is hilarious it's also a good thing . I'm looking forward to 12.1 or 12.2 release when ever that's going to be . I'm am guessing October 8th along with Ableton Move whatever that might be. Exciting times indead .

What bug are you referring to?

my guess is this is releasing on or near the October 8th release of move if that isnt obvious. beta 14 is very solid for the last 2 days for me.

Yay to the PDF manual
Quick question
Apologies if this is basic and has been asked before but is the code open for max4live developers for the midi tools and can we expect a torrent of new and interesting midi tools to come out ?

yes and there is already many devices out for them. Philip Meyer on gumroad has a nice budle of tools. Manifest audio also has some a bundle of tools out, M2TM has interesting stuff also.

It refuses description, allowing only the vague approach of adjectives: dark, light, raw, angelic. Who or what is making these noises? Where are they coming from and what do they point to? What kind of entity can leave such a troubling sonic remnant?

I'm sure 12.1 will be released tomorrow. It seems the final installer is already available via their content delivery network. :borg:
Makes sense, same day as the new hardware 'Move' - probably withy the ability to swap files over cloud etc and use as hardware controller (or 12.2 will be out in beta doing that!)
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Yup. Seems not to like the version of ClyphX I have installed on this, first time Ive ever seen Live 'reject' compatibility with a RemoteScript, but there does seem to be a 12.1-compatible update for ClyphX already.

Interestingly Manifest Audio updated a lot of their m4l devices for 12.1 compatibility a couple of weeks ago too. I wonder what's changed quite so much in the .1 that it requires so many fixes from 3rd party developers?
