Thanks Moss. I'm not sure how long it takes for the updated software to propagate, but it's still showing version 11.0 as of 8th October 2024 10 PM UTC.moss wrote: Sat Oct 05, 2024 1:59 pm ConvertWithMoss 11.1 is online!
Get it from https://www.mossgrabers.de
- New: AIFF/WAV files are now lazy loaded which keeps the memory usage down.
- EXS24
- New: Increased the directories upwards search option to 6.
- KMP
- Fixed: Creation did crash.
- Sample Files
- New: Aggregated AIFF and WAV sources into 'Sample Files' source. Added AIFF, FLAC, NCW and OGG files as well. All types can be selected and detected at once.
- Fixed: Note detection from file names could be wrong when flat notes were part of it (e.g. Eb2 was detected as B2).
- Fixed: Category detection on sample file names did not always work
Enjoy!

Hi, just trying this app out, looks great. Did a single test with a file and had great results, so I wanted to next convert a batch of samples I've already made. I'm looking to take a folder of a number of sf2 files I made in Sample Robot and convert them to Ableton Sampler, but it seems like there is an error related to the file name lengths of the samples in the sf2 files. It seems like Sample With Moss only sees the first 19 or so characters of the name, anything that is unique after that is ignored, and then considers it a duplicate and doesn't convert the next project files afterward in a folder. I tried changing the names of the sf2 files themselves but it seems to be referencing the sample names inside the sf2 file.
I see that there is some sort of renaming feature using an uploadable CSV file which might be the solution, but I'm not clear exactly how that works. I see you enter a row for the name you want to change and then beside it a comma and the output name. But do I have to reference every unique sample name inside the csv file? (That would be a lot of work to create...) Or does it just change the part of the name you specify and keep the rest unchanged (unique note name and number?). Any help would be appreciated in what I must do, thank you!
(Edit - It seems the version of the app wasn't the latest, now when i try i'm able to output project files but the samples themselves are missing for most projects..)

Hi Moss, you might consider adding a DNS record so mossgrabers.de redirects to www.mossgrabers.de ... right now it returns not found. I think an A RECORD would do it, or even a global on the subdomains, but however your host recommends.

Hello Moss,
first, thank you for the wonderful software!
I would like to request a feature: Would it be possible to add support for older format of Yamaha YSFC used on Motif XF / MOXF, please?
I believe X3A or X3W format would be ideal. https://usa.yamaha.com/products/music_p ... ility.html
Its structure is very similar to currently supported YSFC formats, likely with exception of some fields missing.
If any help is necessary, I can support the effort - have MOXF at hand and have some knowledge of the format myself. However, you got much farther with ConvertWithMoss.

X3x and X6x is already supported for reading as well. But there are still some open questions which I cannot solve without a test device. Source is on Github if you want to have a go at it.Aries85 wrote: Mon Oct 14, 2024 8:06 pm Hello Moss,

Convert with Moss worked great for me, up until the last few updates. I can't even open the app now. I'm on Catalina OS on iMac. I'm frustrated as I enjoyed using it very much. I wish I'd not updated.

Hi,
this is very awesome converter!
I've tried to convert my own SF2 to old Korg samples (KMP/KSF). I made the SF2 with an old version of Polyphone. Out of two multisamples I've created, one worked perfectly. The other one has problems playing two samples correctly (covering two octaves) in Trinity. I didn't yet find the reason why, I'm still looking into the resulted files.
Meanwhile: I've met two other actual issues:
1) The folder creation for KMP/KSF does not guarantee unique folder names. Have to name the SoundFont presets so that the differences in the preset names are early enough.
2) KSF file has "number of channels" == 2, even when creating from SoundFont 2 containing mono samples.
I hope to find out the reason for the KMP issue soon!

ConvertWithMoss 11.2 is out!
Get it from https://mossgrabers.de
Enjoy!
Get it from https://mossgrabers.de
- New: Source and destination path stores now the last 20 selections.
- New: Implemented loading of AIFF files since some crashed the Java Sound API.
- DecentSampler
- New: Added option to create a dsbundle as output format.
- New: Added option to combine all detected multi-sample sources into one library or bundle.
- Korg KMP
- New: Proper support for stereo files. Turns out these workstations cannot play back real stereo files, therefore, a stereo file needs to be split into 2 KMP files.
- New: Additionally, a KSC file is created to ease loading of stereo files.
- New: Added 2 options to increase the volume.
- New: Added option to split source groups into individual KMPs.
- New: Increased sample rate limit to 48kHz (was 44.1kHz).
- New: Improved creating unique folder names for KMP files.
- Fixed: Zones needed to be ordered by their upper key-limit otherwise the file did not work and could even crash the workstation.
- Fixed: Reverse playback state was not read correctly.
- Fixed: Prevent several characters in file names which could crash the workstation.
- MPC Keygroups
- New: Added option to create up to 8 layers which is now supported with MPC Firmware 3.4.
- SFZ
- New: Added support for reading SFZ files which reference other SFZ files with #include statements.
- New: Added option to (not) log unsupported SFZ opcodes. This is off by default since the warnings confused many users.
- Soundfont 2
- New: Added options to add the filename and the preset number to the resulting destination file names.
Enjoy!

Hey I'm sorry for the late reply, I don't make it to KVR very often anymore, but I love your software thank you very much for sharing it! .xi files are sampler patches for Fasttracker 2, it's still used quite a bit by tracker software, I'm pretty sure it was the most popular format so most trackers support it. I use a few different trackers so I use the format whenever I can. But it only is able to load 16 samples, so conversion may be difficult, I'm really not sure how it works so I can't say for sure. But I would love to be able to convert to and from that format, often I do my sampling right in FT2 so I can play it as I sample it, it's just a convenient way of working for me and the retro feel is fun also.moss wrote: Tue Jun 25, 2024 11:22 amWhat are .xi files?theorize wrote: Tue Jun 25, 2024 9:35 am Hey I just wanted to say thanks so much for making this! I just got an MPC and it has been very helpful! Any chance of .xi files getting added to the list? I still have use for that format, it is kind of a niche thing though so I understand if not. Thanks again for making this.
