This particular implementation of MMC has nothing to do with a CD player opening, I don't think.

It's just another way of sending messages to Tracktion. You press "play" on your keyboard that is able to send MMC, and Tracktion starts to play. That's the sort of thing they're talking about.

looking good, but like many others i feel the best stuff is yet to come.

i have my fingers crossed for some kind of way of working with video, but i guess at least with MMC it's more likely to be able to come up with a software pairing workaround? keep the news comin', mackie boys!
Kick, punch, it's all in the mind.

I did a quick Google because I don't like being wrong and I wasn't 100% abso-effin-lutely sure about what I said, and I wonder if you're confusing MultiMedia Commands with Midi Machine Code, Ron. ;)

OK, the whispering has to stop! ;)

yeah, I was hoping to travel with me wife to Germany this year. I last visited Germany (the usual Koblenz area thing) when I was about 15, and I've been promising myself ever since that I would return.

If the dollar does not recover before the middle of this year, I'm going to postpone until next. That'll at least give me time to save more cash, and holiday time anyway.
Someone shot the food. Remember: don't shoot food!

MMC can refer to parts of the windows media api, but I think Ron was just being disengenious, bless 'im...

MMC would have been quite high on my list of features not long ago, only I dropped my Sony MD multitrack studio on the floor last year, and that was kind of the end of my hardware-based recording career... :hihi:

Oh, well, maybe this'll give me an incentive to open up the poor thing and see how serious the damage actually is.

I'm still looking for some heavy duty bugs to be fixed.
I program the backing tracks of bass/drums/keyboards then
overdub the audio guitars vocals pianos whistles etc and
after a while or rather when the song gets past a certain
length clip moving / stretching operations get to be a pain
the clip movement/stretch happens at the right place but
the screen view shifts to somewhere else so it cant be seen.
I also have problems with hybrid time signatures when I shift
between 5 4 and 4 4 of 7 8 and 4 4 some clips do not show their
contents until the left edge of the clip goes of the screen.
These may seem small but make working with tracktion a real
bore when they occur.
Is still the best product on the market and Im in for the upgrade but please please please give us a linux version !!!

get rid of clips then to solve that.

Question, would I be able to sync a MPC1000 to Tracktion now? I have a friend with one and he comes here to mix his stuff. This would make things a lot easier. 8)

Midi Sync In/Out? Woot! :D

Now if I see the words 'video file integration' (...or 'video player filter... thing') appear in any way/shape or form, I'll crap my pants. :hihi:

Edit: I forgot about 'audio/midi clips that retain automation'. We're just two features short of a total freakin' hat-trick in my book.

from the latest version of juce:
Changelist for version 1.7

- new class: MouseHoverDetector
- new key-shortcut classes: KeyPressMappingManager and KeyMappingEditorComponent
- added QuickTime movie support via the QuickTimeMovieComponent class
- mouse-events are now time-stamped with the time the event occurred rather than using the time it was delivered (better for detecting double-clicks, etc)s
- getScreenX() now takes into account windows that are contained in non-juce parent windows (e.g. audio plugins)

"External Sync:
In addition to Tracktion's ReWire host functionality, Tracktion 2 now offers more synchronization support, including MIDI Time Code (MTC) input/output and MIDI Clock output for working with hard disk recorders, keyboard workstations, groove boxes, etc. Tracktion 2 can also send and receive MIDI Machine Control (MMC) commands, opening the door to external transport control and integration with modular digital multi-track and hard disk recorders."

I'm starting to get a good feeling about this...

:D
