PreSonus Studio One 7 apparently imminent

Starting at around 2:15 , does anyone get what he's saying should happen here, where it creates midi events in the sequencer ? When I drag a loop to Impact while pressing shift it just splits the loop onto different pads. I'm not getting any midi events created..

Having Splice built in is an absolutely killer feature for me. I'm actually extremely happy about that. It's something I've ACTUALLY been really, really wanting. That or a better sample browser, but this is actually better. Being able to sample real time and in tempo, stuff that I haven't bought yet is frankly amazing.

Have you figured out if you can upload your own samples in Splice yet ? Instead of just using their content ?

i havent. i would doubt it. i will say, StudioOne's sample browser is godawful. I've been using the ASDR sample manager on a hidden VST track to get in-time samples, instead of their browser.

It creates for me but not on the first bar. Check it, maybe it somewhere on the line.

My problem with Studio One 7 is they've taken the #1 DAW for serious studio musicians, ripped it from our hands, and handed it over to the beat thieves. Absolutely everything new in it is geared towards people who think Unison MIDI packs are fire.

That is weird. It should. I just tried it.

Finally have 7 going and it looks great, almost exactly the same as before. The rounded corners are the only things that tell me I'm in 7 and not 6. AFAICT, fades work the same as before. Seems like all upside, no downside.

I quite like update. Global transpose is great, pattern with impact xt view is nice. Clip launcher is side by side with arranger for fast ideas is also great(never clicker with scratch pads). Though I need to check how to loop properly because it creates loops to the whole track length. Also Splice is ok, but if producer make living from music and use splice. I am not going to subscribe to splice but there is some content for free for S1 users.

So far I'm not a fan of the Splice subscription. The Native browser should have been created to host these features. Hopefully Presonus don't start relying on external developers for subscription services just to add features. My biggest problem is I already have all the content I'd ever need. And I just want to use the Splice technology / tagging etc.. and not rely on Splice for content.

Anyone know if we can add our own content to Splice or ?
