I can't even remember if I paid for the win version or not. I think I did.

Yes. That's right.floyd wrote:hmm, confused... Those of us who got in the June GB, but didn't pay yet - the GB price is still valid when Zebra PC is released, right?
Unfortunately, the first-attempt-zebra-port-failure kinda screwed it all up
So, the deal I proposed - and everybody agreed on - was, anybody who signed into the Group Buy for the PC version would get Zebra 2.0 for that price. Everybody who signed in for the PC version and already paid for it until August 04 will also get a special offer on a future product, i.e. Filterscape (Hello Mystahr
As far as I can see, roughly 10 people already bought Zebra for PC in context of the GB, and I'm gonna offer them Filterscape for free - if they like - in compensation for the patience they still have to show. If they don't like Filterscape, well, they could vote for MFM2 or any other future product.
Thus, signing in to the GB gets you Zebra 2 instead of Zebra 1.5, at the time Zebra 2 is available, for exactly those $109 bucks
I'm trying my best to get stuff straight. Stuff happened as it did, and that's been neither good for you (you still have to wait) nor for me (my bank account is in a hilarious condition and so is my conscience). However, it's been my fault that stuff wasn't sorted earlier...
Cheers,

Well, I try to be fair. If I let anybody into the group buy now, what would people think that have paid the full price during the last 7 months? - Nope, that's not an option.Muff Wiggler wrote:aw crap

Nevertheless, *active* beta testers have always had some sort of advantage

What happened to this idea:
But I thought they got more people on board who couldn't afford it otherwise....
I'm not trying to give you a hard time, I can understand if you were just thinking out loud & changed your mind.
Maybe an informal poll to see how many interested PC users there are would help decide if it's economically worth it?
So basically, now that Z PC will actually be available, you won't hold a GB because you think they're too popular and they cost your bank account in the long run?I have only recently come to an idea about how to make an introduction offer for PC versions without pissing off Mac customers and yet delivering crossplatform licenses. Tricky stuff. But I'll have something going when it's due. (Like, when buying the PC introduction version, it will run exclusively on PCs for the first 3 months. After that, it will also run on Macs with the same license keys. Something like that. This way, PC users can have the same benefits that Mac users had, just - in case of Filterscape and Zebra - a little (ahem Embarassed ) later, while future products will be released for both platforms simultaneously anyway)

hehehe i should have used emoticons in that post, I was only teasin'.... no-one could expect you to do something like that, it wouldn't make sense at all
anyway, count on me for beta time, and i'll make you a good deal too: the buggier you make it, the more 'active' i'll be
cheers

Honestly, I'm tired of discussing this stuff.kodama wrote:What happened to this idea:

The Zebra Group Buy happened and it's not likely to happen again, nor any other GBs for my stuff.
An introduction offer for Zebra PC is not likely to happen. - If I remember correctly, the Group Buy was advertized as replacement for an introduction offer. It was either or, and either won.
An introduction offer for Filterscape PC is very likely to happen.
But I don't want to bother with these things now. My current priority is bringing the stuff to PC, not thinking about marketing issues.
And yes, due to having to rewrite the engine for portability and thus delays of 4 months and due lost revenues for not having Zebra PC back in August, my pockets are empty. This concerns me, and I don't think anyone can blame me for being concerned. But this has nothing to do with my pricing policy.
Last word spoken,

I think everyone who REALLY wants these things on PC should just wait it out. The more time spent on emails and forum posts takes away from time that can be used to develop the things you wanted in the first place. These things will come, but you need to leave Urs the resources needed to get it done.
And on the subject of Group Buys, these are nice and all, but Zebra and Filterscape are worth the regular price. If you missed the deals, then you missed the deals. It's just that simple.

Ya I'll leave him alone, he's gettin kinda frumpy
I know fans of every peice of saftware are like "it's worth whatever they ask".
I'll just wait & see what Zebra 2 PC looks/sounds like and what it costs when it comes out.
I do have a Mac, but it has the all the CPU power of a pack of bubble gum.
