I completely agree, despite the fact that I’ve been with SM for many years. It needs collaborations with musicians, reels in different styles showing what the synthesizer can do in their genre and vibe. A bit of eye-candy, catchy user interface wouldn’t hurt either. Yes, I know we’re talking about sound. But if it looks sexy, it makes you want to use it even more.

When&where did we advertised it as an EDM focused synth?VELLTONE MUSIC wrote: Thu Oct 10, 2024 5:50 am The advertisement of sm3 like previous 2 is still focused on edm genres, nothing seriously is changed as advertisement in areas where more advanced producers work,to show them what this machine can do,to catch their attention.

I mean that the demos somehow point to the edm genres, not that you advertise it as such.kv331 wrote: Thu Oct 10, 2024 7:01 amWhen&where did we advertised it as an EDM focused synth?VELLTONE MUSIC wrote: Thu Oct 10, 2024 5:50 am The advertisement of sm3 like previous 2 is still focused on edm genres, nothing seriously is changed as advertisement in areas where more advanced producers work,to show them what this machine can do,to catch their attention.
In fact sm3 has really diverse library and i like some soundcloud tracks on your page a lot,but still,it's just a user feeding ,that there is too much edm -ish sound and something in the compositions point that way,it's subjective from my side probably.
For example, second one is my favorite ,it's labeled as Cinematic Ambient Electronic - the style, the sound, the track ,everything to my audiophile taste is superb.
If i hear it in a club or even as soundtrack of a movie will touch my ears emotionally ,it's not the sound or melody which cause the edm focus, but when kick line hit ,bring me back to edm-ish even pop association... and then the third track, somewhere in the middle, just out of the blue blow away with ambient sound ...,but it's not labeled as ambient, this sound should open the ambient track, cause give immediately that ambient feeling...
Just sayng...

Please don't get me wrong, not teaching you or colleagues how to do your stuff, just user audiophile observation / point of view.
I myself am in constant hesitation how to express with composition my own sound, so to fit a style ... that's why prefer not to deal with genres

I'm all for it.kv331 wrote: Sun Oct 06, 2024 2:39 pm Guys, another UX improvement that is in my todo list for SM 3.1 is replacing menus to select waveforms/wavetables/samples with browser windows. What are your thoughts on this? Many users said that they don’t like drill down menus
For me it would be ideal if the browser wouldn't cover the full window but only one quadrant or two of the editor, so that one could still access for instance the oscillator parameters while browsing for waveforms or samples.
I often like to play around with some settings or look at the different waveforms in a wavetable to see if a certain sample fits, so a full screen browser - while convenient in some regards - needs more switching back and forth.
In that case, I could even see leaving the current right-click-menus in place and have the browser for instance as a tab in the lower right quadrant as an additional option, although that one is already quite packed with tabs.
Or maybe in the keyboard area?
I don't have a fully formed idea yet, but having it non-fullscreen would be ideal for me, I never liked that in for instance Vital.
If it has to be a modal overlay for some reason, it should remember exactly where I was and restore that exact view after I switch back the the editor and then open the sample browser again, so that I do not have to find my way back each time.
Cheers and thank you!!!
Tom

Hi Rob,Examigan wrote: Sat Sep 28, 2024 10:01 pm I tried 3 times to export the audio from a preset I made with some notes playing in the DAW and it seems to work, but then it crashes Cakewalk right after it finishes exporting. There's no error message, the DAW just goes poof..
Just fixed an issue which might be the root cause for this one: If the sample rate changes for the granular oscillator while it is playing voices, it might crash.

Hi, sorry about my late reply-Neb- wrote: Tue Sep 24, 2024 3:36 pm @kv331
The scale 'fill octave' feature is not present in SM v3.03. Will this feature ever be introduced into SM3?
I found it really useful in SM2.
Thanks.

Yes, you can import the regions and edit them with the sfz editor. You can also drag-n-drop a sfz file to import & load it. and when you are done with your sfz, you can export it (with/without samples)audiojunkie wrote: Tue Sep 24, 2024 3:33 pm Is it possible to be able to visually keymap samples and zones yet? There is currently only one other sampler that can export SFZ, and it comes from a shady developer, whose company name ends in .....DSP. I would much prefer to not have to deal with that developer any more. If your software could handle all of the SFZ sampling capabilities, that would be awesome!!![]()
During wav/aif/flac import, If the files have root notes in their names, such as
Piano-C4.1.wav
Piano-C4.2.wav
The files will be sorted based on the root notes and their rms levels.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Nice! This is another great selling point that you need to mention in your advertisements!
SynthMaster 3 can be used to create/map SFZ instruments!

Do you mean the Master Filter or Spectral Filter? I tested both of them, tried different use cases (add/remove points, add/remove keyframes, edit freehand, edit points), but can not get a crash so far... So, I'd need an exact scenario to be able to reproduce this.swilow11 wrote: Thu Sep 26, 2024 11:55 am apply the spectral filter or whatever, SM3 glitches and ends up crashing in Bitwig.

Just fixed this issue. In the next update, you will be able to load SynthMaster 3 presets into layers as well. But just a reminder (which is also valid for SM2 presets): only layers are loaded from the preset, so global fx / master parameters are not the same, and the preset might sound different in a multi-layer context.emef wrote: Tue Sep 24, 2024 4:47 pm hi there, i'm using the latest update and the option to add a new sound on a new layer is gone now, it was there, i can preview synthmaster 3 sounds alright, but the 'add new layer' option is gone from the drop down menu when i right click on the sound.
