During wav/aif/flac import, If the files have root notes in their names, such as

Piano-C4.1.wav
Piano-C4.2.wav

The files will be sorted based on the root notes and their rms levels.
That is great news, its probably the best SFZ based sampler/synth out there…
Now we just need a smart cutter, that analyzes pitch and attacks and play single notes on that ancient spinet and have them saved according to detected pitches and all mapping is done…

In build 15544, it now requires holding Shift to select with the < and > buttons when clicking. I doubt this is the desired behavior. =)
Thanks for the bug report, it is now fixed and will be in 3.0.4 update

So, Is this what you mean:

There's a single wave file with multiple notes recorded.
SM3 analyzes the file
First splits into regions based on transients,
Next, analyzes pitches for each region (root note) and finds exact root notes.

Since you're still looking for feedback for future development, I'd like to repeat my concern about the sequencer. On a MacBook Pro, without a scroll wheel, there is no way to shorten note lengths within a step. Per your video, I tried using the shift key and dragging left on notes with no success. Lengthening notes this way (dragging to the right) is no problem. Thanks for your consideration.

Did you try moving mouse over the step volume, and use swipe left/right gestures on the trackpad (with 2 fingers, not 1)? Swipe l/r gesture = scroll wheel x axis, Swipe u/d gesture = scroll wheel y axis :)

Yes, exactly. It doesn‘t need to be SM3, it could be an independent application which also records it…

I have a couple of questions and comments about this amazing synth.

I'm playing with FM, and the modulators are all able to be wired back into themselves for FM feedback. I can't seem to do this with the carrier. Is it possible?

In the routing, somehow the UI is lacking a bit of feedback. I'm not always sure when I've successfully clicked on a node to drag from to make a connection. I'm sure a tweak here would make it all feel much more useable, and that would make it world class for FM. Maybe even something like right-click on the port and select "connect to" or something?

I like to make delayed vibratos controlled by an LFO. The existing LFO doesn't seem to have a delay feature. Is there another way I can achieve this?

Sure, I can add that in the next update!

LFOs have delay/attack/release envelopes:

Wow, that would be great.

Nice, I must have missed that, that's great, thank you!

And what about my final question, which is whether there's a way we can do FM feedback on the carrier and not just on the modulators?

Hey Guys - I have Synthmaster One, 2 and 3. I only have SM3 installed. My understanding is that I should be able to see all of the SM2 presets (I have done the right-click and restore my preset banks). I do see my SM1, SM3 and additional expansion packs but I only see 2 patches from SM2 (when I select SM2 in the browser attributes). How can I get the SM2 factory presets - without installing SM2?

CHEERS

Post

Update - it's worse than I thought. The additional expansion banks don't load the patches (even though they appear to), they just play the last selected factory preset. So, only SM One and 3 patches work...

Post

Update again...support have responded. Turns out you do still have to have SM2 installed as well as SM3 to see the SM2 presets and expansions.

Final update...SM2 and SM 3 presets working (but you do have to have both apps installed). SM1 presets are present in the browser but simply play the previously selected working SM3 or SM2 patch. So, I installed SM1. Now the patches do work but there are double entries in the browser for every SM1 patch. So annoying. This really should have been sorted before rolling this out. I hope they get these bugs fixed because, like others have mentioned, it is putting me off using SM - just doesn't seem solid/finished and wastes so much time messing with stuff that should just work.

I don't have SM 1 or 2 installed and I can see Insigna's presets from SM2 within SM3, unless those were re-worked presets for SM3... but who knows.

Bulent, your thoughts?

The envelope for an LFO is at about the 30:02 mark in this video
