I have this one kick drum track where the level meter is showing the level even if the track is not solo'ed or even muted

there's no edit group, no sidechaining, no plug-ins, no ghost track no nothing.... all tracks go to the default output and I also tried deleting the level meter and putting it back in...

not sure what's happening here.

I did create the edit in W11 and imported it into W13 if that's a clue.... reimporting doesn't help either

That in itself is not strange, as W13 has the option to process audio tracks when muted (they just don't pass to the output). What is weird is that only one track is doing this. Does it matter? I have found that opening projects from older versions in W13 can sometimes cause the odd weird behaviour, mainly with track routings, or the browser tab, but they were older than W11, more like T5 and 6.

Great question by Dysjoint. If you mute the solo track, do you still hear anything? If not, probably no worry at all.

I can envision a plugin continuing to process audio (like a reverb with long, long decay), but there's nothing on that track above the soloed one.

Is there a rack or anything in use that isn't immediately obvious pushing audio to that track?
Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and even Deezer, whatever the hell Deezer is.

I don't hear it. so it's not a big issue but it is still strange.
there's no reverb no rack no nothing.

I still use Tracktion (sorry... Waveform) like I did V1
no sends no racks most of the times no busses either.... just mono and stereo tracks feeding into the masterbus

simply creating a new track and dragging over the clip worked just fine though. consider this solved (at least for me)
