Hi everyone,
New updates for ColourCopy (1.0.2), MFM2 (2.5.1) and Twangström (1.0.2) are now available.
ColourCopy and Twangström get CLAP support, and all include our experimental Key Control feature for mouseless operation. They also include native Apple Silicon support for Pro Tools (AAX), as well as many bug fixes and improvements.
As usual, these updates are free for existing license holders. Just download them from the product pages and install over the old versions.

Very nice update! Thank you! The key control feature is fantastic! However, I would find it more intuitive to use Ctrl + Arrow Up/Down to change the parameter value, because it needs another look at the keyboard to find the +/- keys in order to change the values. With Ctrl + arrows up/down you can just place you fingers on these keys and navigate and adjust around without looking down on the keyboard again. Is it possible to change this somewhere?

As it's hard to keep track of all the requests over multiple threads, we have a dedicated key control thread here: viewtopic.php?t=611856okmog wrote: Wed Oct 16, 2024 12:30 pm Very nice update! ColourCopy 1.0.2 seems to be causing momentary dsp spikes when starting playback on bitwig 5.2.5 - I've tried with the CLAP and VST3 versions and I encounter the same behaviour on both.
I can also replicate a similar looking dsp spike in the UI when enabling the bypass button (going from not bypassed to bypassed, but not vice versa), or clicking the HQ toggle switch (both directions).
I original assumed it was a bitwig 5.2.5 issue as it's in pre-release state, and while I haven't checked older bitwig versions colourcopy seems to be the only VST causing this behaviour as once I removed all instances from a medium sized projects the spikes stopped.
This is on Intel macos 13.6.9, 44.1khz @ 256 block size, MOTU M4. I've replicated it on a completely empty project with only colourcopy on an audio track.

This is not new in version 1.0.2. When playback starts, the plugin is bypassed or the HQ switch activated, the plugin resets its audio engine, so any ongoing delay feedback is stopped.pikey wrote: Wed Oct 23, 2024 11:44 am ColourCopy 1.0.2 seems to be causing momentary dsp spikes when starting playback on bitwig 5.2.5.
Clearing all the internal caches of the delay takes some processing power, causing this small, very short spike.

Thanks that makes sense, I must have not noticed previously as I've only started using colourcopy on larger projects recently.tasmaniandevil wrote: Wed Oct 23, 2024 12:26 pmThis is not new in version 1.0.2. I do find the dsp underrun blips quite distracting though, my processing baseline for the current project is around ~40% dsp load (so I feel I have a fair bit of headroom) and with the extra colourcopy processing I'm hitting the limit momentarily when starting playback.
I do like the clearing buffer on playback behaviour but if it's between underrun clicks or ringing echos I'd take the ringing echos when I'm deep into a project and start/stopping often. Just some feedback, a toggle for this behaviour in settings would be nice for my use case. Or really ideally the initial dsp load would be lower, but I'm sure there are good reasons on why that's needed to maintain the great colourcopy sound and usability.
For the time being I'll just increase my buffer.
PS just want to say how much I love that the buffer clearing is exposed via automation in colourcopy, such a great feature that is surprisingly rare in delays and reverbs.

Ran into the same on the weekend, I thought it's a Bitwig or a Windows issue that I'm getting spikes when playback starts. Tried everything, increased buffer size, updated drivers, tried disabling E-core CPU's and HyperThreading. I thought I have quite a lot of DSP headroom, similar to pikey, my project used around 40% of the CPU, yet the spikes caused drop outs frequently. My setup is Win11 24H2, Focusrite Solo at 48kHz, 256 samples and Bitwig 5.2.7.

It's a minor issue, but I've noticed these recent UI updates (much appreciated!) have introduced rather odd looking scrollbars in the preset browser. One end is rounded, while the other is flat.
In Colour Copy: And after checking out Bazille, it looks like what's actually happening is that the rounded end cap is being drawn backwards.

Hello. Maybe it's a strange question.. but what's your thoughts about ColourCopy? I mean what's the emulation of this delay? I like U-HE stuff so much. But I am already have Timeless by Fabfilter and Valhalla Delay, plus replika and stock Cubase delays...

I do not know about any of the other products out there. I just know that we found a very efficient and good sounding way to emulate bucket brigade delays without usual cheats. So in CoCo, when you put feedback up, play something into it and you start changing the delay time, it will simply pitch transpose, but it will not change the audio in the loop. When you go back to the original rate setting, you get the original audio in the feedback (plus the intended damping/distortion). In other words, the rate parameter chnages the internal sample rate, not the length of the delay line. That's the major point of CoCo.
I highly doubt that many emulations out there behave that way, but I could be wrong.
Next up, many of the sounds that make people crave BBD are on old records and old production techniques. CoCo has routing options that resemble those techniques effortlessly, e.g. when in Jean-Michel Jarre's Oxygen the dry sound is on one side while the delay is on the other. Or when the first feedback tap in on the opposite side of the delay input.
Again I doubt that many plug-ins out there do this so effortlessly, but I could be wrong. Dunno.
I just know that CoCo is a very rounded, very good sounding delay plug-in that has options which I have not seen before, but which are extremely musical and should be sought after. Others may have caught up in the six or seven years since its release, but then again, what do I know...

I still quite like ColourCopy and use it regularly to this day. Valhalla is my main go to but CoCo does that DM-2 thing but in a more studio friendly way than Valhalla's original BBD mode (less murky). Plus as Urs said, it does more. Top delay plugin for me.

Yeah, Valhalla Delay is one of the best delay for that price. And the quality is also very good. Will demo colour copy as well.
