They don't ship the dongle to the place I lived at the time when I was about to order it.

hard to believe

sounds like extra hassle to me, which, again, plugin manufacturers that don't use iLok, don't have
Well, other plugin manufacturers have a limited amount of machines you can have activated. And if you want to sell a machine you still have to deactivate the machine on your account on their website. Not too different in my book.

Yes and more often than not, you just log in with your creds from a new machine and deactivate the license from the old machine. No dongles needed.

Worked fine last years (Win/Live).

Related question. I usually have my licenses on a physical USB dongle on my desktop and on the iLok cloud for my laptop to avoid machine activations. Worked fine in the past. However a few months ago my desktop started to automatically force-open the iLok cloud session as well, which is annoying because whenever I now open anything on my laptop I always have to first close the iLok cloud session on my desktop. I tried all the usual things but the behavior persists. Anybody know what software could cause that behavior on my desktop? UA Connect? Avid Link? …

you can deactivate the automatic opening of cloud licenses in the ilok app.

choomaque wrote: Thu Oct 17, 2024 1:14 am No. They do prevent people from moving licenses.
For absolute majority of plugin developers that don't use iLok, having access to account = having access to licenses.
Saynig they're the same thing doesnt make them the same thing.

To use your own logic, the absolute majority of plugin developers 'stop you from moving licenses' because not having access to account = not having access to license.
iLok disagrees and blocks you from your licenses activated on the same account but on other machine. If you sold the machine - you lost the license forever. That's pain in the arse.
Its a pain in the arse, but its your responsibility.

Do you have any Softube plugins? The installer has a nasty habit of popping licences onto the cloud so the plugins wind up using those.

I was so many years without Ilok and all was great. But some sweet plugins like Soothe or Soundtoys use this system... so, I have no choice and install Ilok system. It's ok. It's better to use it and have the great plug-ins on the board... so many companies now on this system....

ILok works fine here no spikes or cpu issues, I can start iLok License Manager prett, quality, also gui is very fine

This topic is so dead, it does not even smell funny anymore.
