freezing audio of acoustic instruments like guitar

is it possible to use frosting to freeze (or perhaps a better word is sustain) acoustic instruments like guitar?

i'd like a seamless, non-glitchy, practically infinite sustain.

using the manual slider very near the bottom is the closest i can get, but i think i need a finer adjustment.

from my research, this effect can be achieved by capturing a ~40msec loop and playing it back both forwards and backwards at the same time.

I don't have very clear answer, but a looper effect is the choice for your purpose?

Meanwhile, you can control the manual slider by your plugin host's automation or relative features. The freeze button as well. In this way, maybe you can fine-control those parameters as you desire.
