Installing the IK Max V2 is a pain in the blackhole so far! I dread doing the whole 600Gb like this. -_-

I don’t get this TBH. Maybe I am just lucky. I bought Syntronik V2 Max on some silly discount from APD or VST Buzz a long time ago and installed it with no problem. I caved on the humble bundle deal. I opened the IK product manager and logged in. It updated and then I registered the bundle. Everything showed up. So far I have just installed Erik Norlander’s Mojo Synthesis libraries, and that went without a a hitch. I opened SampleTank and there they were, no problem. I just had to wait a bit for it to rebuild the database. I had set the library location to my second SSD already (a 4TB one I installed in my Laptop myself). Native Access has caused me far more headaches for installing NI’s own Kontakt library products and updates.

This is excellent advice. I too have never had issues with IK installs so I bought a lotto ticket and am now a brozillionaire.

Miroslav for some reason would crash. Downloads and installs seem to have started to work. Miroslav had an issue that you had to download an older version first and then re-install the latest one on top of it in order to work. A bit odd. Also while you do get the samples for Miroslav Phil 2 on the Max V2 version of Sampletank, and the humble bundle included the CE version, for some reason the samples for MPH2 are locked on the standalone Miroslav. I mean.. Come on IK.

Things seem to work right now but there is a lot of bloat. A bit annoying that you cannot find much information for some of the things you install. Also I did not find an uninstaller for packs etc. I guess I could just transfer the samples of things I do not wanna use to some external drive to save space.

I emptied the download folder, I hope IK will not play games with this policy.

Guess what? SampleTron failed to imstall. I thought I might check it out to compare against GForce’s MTron Pro IV, which I own already along with some of the add-on “tapes.”

This might be different on Windows but on the MacOS version, the app isn't quite smart enough to delay installation attempts when you've got several queued up. But it has downloaded the installer that you can either retry from the app or install manually from the temp download folder it uses.

I don't think I've had a situation where it won't install at all if the installation paths are kosher.
