Boycott the T2 striptease

Having just read the 'sinking feeling' topic, I am putting out a request that we boycott Mackies blatant attempt to sow discord and division amongst it's loyal (and not so loyal) followers.
I don't understand why Mackie doesn't just release the info - the time'release strategy appears to be backfiring. People getting peed off because the feature list doesn't meet their requirements so far, people getting peed off with other people, and a generally negative air starting to pervade the forum.
Seeing as it's been nearly six months since any upgrade or anything, I think Mackie should realise that people aren't into waiting anymore.
I'm just going to get on with my music.
And a message to Mackie
STFU until you are ready to release T2, then release it. Stop acting like a bloody pole dancer in a Blackpool slum pub.
Cheers
Simon

That's a joke right? I mean, how do you plan to boycote the release of info from a company on a new product?
Or maybe you're saying we shouldn't look at it?

[edited because maybe I was being a bit of a c**t]
The only reason to be bummed is lack of patience. Why be bummed until the feature list is finalized?

I don't know about boycotts, but I have to say I am bummed out so far over this T2 thing. Let me try to explain.....
T2 has been the "buzz" for the 7 months I have been blessed with owning tracktion. We've gone through jokes, groundhogs, trolls and survived allot just to get to where rawmaterial tracktion has clearly become MACKTION.
Sorry, there is nothing released yet that I can't live without and the strip tease is just providing more questions than answers. Let's please be realistic so far......there is nothing said YET that can't be found in other products. And unless the price point is still really low, or they have allot of other crazy-phat features commin', it's a suicide bombing mission.
I am bummed, really bummed right now. It's just not what I would have expected after the fan base that jules built. Usually, when the hairs stand up in the back of my neck, I am right. I don't want to be, but at this point in time a "APRIL FOOLS JOKE" or "HA, we were just kidding, here are some useful features we know you were expecting" would be refreshing.
Sorry, I just have a bad feeling about it so far.

So whose G-string do we have to stuff fivers down to get Mackie to reveal more?simondsouza wrote:STFU until you are ready to release T2, then release it. Stop acting like a bloody pole dancer in a Blackpool slum pub.
Actually, cancel that thought *shudder*. The potential answers are too frightening!

Bloody hell, some folks will whinge about anything. Sheesh.

I voted "no" because so far I'm enjoying the ride.
When I see "update" feature lists a mile long with 70 small bugfixes and a couple of features hidden away, I switch right off. Generally I can't be doing with reading them, and want the headlines.
In the case of T2 we've all been expecting a lot... in fact reading the many threads on the subject, at one time or another we've asked for all the good features out of every other music software product on the market
.
Having time to digest the updates in T2 is fair, because it gives us all a chance to see if we like and/or need the new features. Some of those mentioned so far I can certainly live without, but I will be updating because there's enough in there already to justify the point upgrade. And I'm expecting several more to be revealed still.
While waiting for T2 I have tried several of the main contenders, and I have to say that I've come running back to Tracktion 1.6 bigtime. Tracktion is simply a fantastic sequencing environment with a great workflow.

Are you for real? Having some information sure beats reading those annoyingly stupid threads that the forum was riddled with a while back. "Sow discord and division", what kind of stupid bullshit is that? It's a f**king marketing campaign, not a sinister ploy to take over the world.simondsouza wrote:Having just read the 'sinking feeling' topic, I am putting out a request that we boycott Mackies blatant attempt to sow discord and division amongst it's loyal (and not so loyal) followers.
If you're a troll I took the bait, if not, find something worthwhile to worry about.

Gosh, didn't expect such a lot of emotion.
All I meant was that Mackie seem to be doing a drip drip drip kind of marketing campaign, which I find - well- annoying and a bit patronising. just tell us what you're gonna do.
So yes, I'm ignoring the time release (if I can!) for now.
My, people get so upset over such little things.
Bye and respect to all.

Its only a problem for people with no patience or who take this too seriously - I think it's fun
Most people are enjoying the ride - it's just a few pedants who are whinging.

Indeed. It's like waiting for christmas - but without knowledge of the precise date of the "holy night"...aMUSEd wrote:I think it's funMost people are enjoying the ride
