"Our" being a select group. Some of us aren't getting that sinking feeling. ;)

Nothing's more boring than people whinging when there's nothing to go on yet. Save it till the release and THEN complain about this, that, or the other feature that you wanted and didn't get.

FFS... where's an ebaumsworld graphic when you need one....

Well, at least it has a rodent in it....

Well I'm sure we'd all like to know how you're so "sure"? Do tell!

Step edit and MIDI sync are the only two significant features. I don't give a rat's ass about Mackie hardware, I ain't buying it. Or Broadcast WAV, or any of that other useless shit, and I bet that 90% of the T1 users out there don't care about it either.

T is a friggin' sequencer, and detailed MIDI editing has been a standard feature set in every sequencer since Cakewalk for DOS. If Mackie had the sense to listen to the T1 user base on this forum, they would have heard "WE WANT MIDI EDITING THAT DOESN'T SUCK" loud and clear.

Mackie already got my 80 bucks for T1. If they want more of my hard earned money for T2 then they have to earn it by adding value. I'm not sold by a bunch of gushing fanboys hopping up and down and hangin on every marketing tidbit issued by Mackie.

The more people like TheWall say "but wait theres more", the more I tend to think: T2, what a f**king disappointment.

Nonono...it's just a reasonable, educated(hopefully) guess.

The features list isn't even done yet. Of course there will be better MIDI, BUT-- and I'm sure you know this already:

TRACKTION IS A f**king AUDIO SEQUENCER, AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN.

Can't figure out why people go on... and on... and on... and on... and on... about the damned MIDI. They've heard it! If they're adding step and MMC, is it even conceivable that the piano roll is untouched? Not by a long shot. It's probably the first thing that got worked on. And frankly, I'd rather have looped audio recording and grouped tracks.

Why do you say that?

I call bullshit. The Mackie website says:

"easiest-to-use professional recording and MIDI production software in the world"

and

"Tracktion's flexible architecture lets you explore complex permutations of digital audio clips, MIDI sequences and plug-in effects just by dragging-and-dropping them around the screen."

Emagic Logic, circa 1996, had *far* more advanced MIDI editing. Complex permutations my ass! T1 barely has piano roll note editing.

I can't figure out why people are such snobs about audio loops. I paid for integrated audio and MIDI, but don't feel as though I got the MIDI part in T1. T2 had better have an *ass kicking* MIDI implementation or I am not a T2 customer.

LOL, I'm saving that one, it will come in handy in SO many situations.

I am far from condemning T2 yet; I won't make any final decision until we've seen a full feature list. But my point is that the early signs are that we're seeing Tracktion evolve into Mackie-OS, rather than growing as the product it used to be. But I will be happy if I'm proved wrong :)

If any of the regulars here might have their hands on T2 now, it would be ppl like Valley and ModuLR. Not me.

Why do you say that?
It's very simple. The program hasn't been released yet, and the list still says "more to come". If it was done, they would have announced, "Ta Da, and there you have it!". Plus, they haven't implemented a few of the most sought-after features, such as better MIDI (I may not care too much personally, but I still acknowledge that it's the #1 most asked-for feature).

It's common knowledge that Jules wrote Tracktion with his own needs in mind, which were the needs of an audio-recording musician.
and

"Tracktion's flexible architecture lets you explore complex permutations of digital audio clips, MIDI sequences and plug-in effects just by dragging-and-dropping them around the screen."
It does. ;) I don't see how that's a counter-argument. :?

Fine! I don't disagree. Tracktion 1's MIDI is inferior to Logic's or almost (maybe not even 'almost') any other MIDI sequencer.

Snob? You're talking to the wrong guy. I'm quite far from being a snob and usually make effort to insist that people following my advice or suggestions realize that I'm just a hobbyist. I also try my best to use pure audio (not loops), though I've been known to use and shamelessly enjoy drum loops. When I say "looped audio recording" I'm talking about the ability for a set number of measures to keep playing while my audio (for example a guitar solo) keeps being recorded in stacks/layers/lanes/whateveryouwantocallit. Way more useful to me than any MIDI feature could ever be.

No, far from being a snob, I'm more a guy who's getting sick, tired, and frustrated with all the pre-emptive negativity. Wait until the f**king thing's released before you start raining on people's parades. If I absolutely hate T2's 'final' feature set and decide to switch to another sequencer, you can bet your ass that I won't be crying and making a spectacle of it.
:?
:? right back at you. I fail to see the point of pre-emptive whining.

That's a fair enough response, and a fair topic for discussion. I'd be lying if I said I didn't notice the proliferation of Mackie-specific features; however, I still feel that Jules is the heart of the program and it will still be "Tracktion" if you know what I mean.

Nope, that's a silly question.

i'm convinced that features that are more relevant to most of us are being saved until last deliberately (they know none of the t1 users will stop checking the list until it's complete anyway :)).
