I'm sure you know this but just want to make certain it's understood:

VintageVerb does FAR more than "just" Lexi-type of reverb.
Oh yeah, I know. It does the EMT-250 thing, Quantec, etc. I don't know what to call those. "Digital reverbs with character" maybe? "Non-Spring, Non-Plate, not necessarily realistic sounding room" reverbs?

Maybe just: Vintage verbs.

Yes, exactly this!

My personal favourite is Palace, which does the Quantec(s) but is so much more versatile and flexible than all of them and thus can go to beautyful places they can't. Palace alone would be easily worth a lot more than the modest asking price of VintageVerb.

May be there is something planed?
This should do the trick: https://www.widebluesound.com/silencer/

Ducking is quick n easy in Ableton, Reaper and Bitwig AFAIK.

Ducking is easy in most DAWS but its much easier in the actual plugin. That said, ducked reverbs often sound weird to me but as an effect, it can be nice.

Maybe you can get a more natural effect using threshold, ratio, attack and release controls.

One nice thing about dynamics processing inside the reverb is that some plugins offer more control over what exactly is ducked/compressed/gated. See Cinematic Rooms Pro for a good example of this. Sometimes you want to process only the reverb and not the early reflections for a more natural sound. Otherwise, I agree it is pretty easy to do with some routing to a separate compressor.

In general, I seldom miss the lack of ducking in reverbs and delays. I frequently don't use them, or only use them subtly when they're there. They're nice convenience / quality of life features, but the first several decades of reverb and delay effects didn't have any ducking controls. Plugins have made ducking features a bit more commonplace but it's not like mixing has suddenly dramatically improved as a result.

So, I view it as a nice to have.

From which one exactly?

I've also got the Relab LX480, UA 224, Arturia LX-24 (and others with vintage Lexi roots, e.g. Sonsig). ValhallVintageVerb holds it's own. I appreciate it's different. And the new Chamber 1979 and Hall 1984 algorithms don't have me pulling up the others for a "closer to Lexi" feel like I sometimes used to with VintageVerb. So if you haven't used VVV in a while, you may want to try out those new algorithms.

Oh I tried
Chamber 79 is a caricature of the 224 Chamber.
Vintagereverb is always doing too much, not subtle at all
Top reverb will always preserve the original sound in the early reflection and the tails
It's not there with VVV

But I understand if people like.

It has a number of parameters after all - one needs to know what to do with them. :-)

I hardly even use or miss the Lexicon PCM plugs anymore since Valhalla have added all the extra algorithms to Vintage Verb.
