Addictive Drums

I just did a clean install of everything on a new HD.

I have many current projects with Addictive Drums.

The problem I'm having is strange. AD drums will load AS A NEW INSTANCE in my DAW (Cubase 11).

It will NOT however load itself on any of the tracks in any of the projects with existing instances of AD Drums.

In ALL of my projects, every track that has AD drums on it already, instead of displaying the name of the instrument that's loaded, it displays something like !!!Drums 36!!!. Different names, but always with the three exclamation points in front and behind. The tracks are still there, but the instrument is unloaded in every instance.

The other thing is NONE of my XLN stuff (Drums or Keys) will open as a standalone, even though I made a point of installing the standalone. I click to launch stand alone and I get pop messages about searching for it.

I installed everything just using the XLN online installer, so I haven't made any changes to the default install paths.

Any suggestions?

Same on Bitwig. Hoping it just needs a plugin rescan, but hearing that it's affecting the standalones is not helping.

That's strange. I just checked and I can load a project in Cakewalk from 4 years ago, and I have done a clean install of Windows since then.
I have the latest version of AD.

Does it show the correct machine info in your account on the XLN site?

It sounds kind of like when I try to load old projects using the old version of OP-X Pro II. The 64-bit version won't work since I had used the 32-bit version way back when.

I'm not sure how that works. It's the same machine, but with a brand new hard drive. Does that make it different? I don't know. In the meantime, AD drums altered the online installer for my machine and it only allows me to install the previous version of AD2, AD2.4. I thought that would fix things, but... no. So, the mystery deepens.

I’m not sure if looks at the HD or something on the motherboard. :?

I know for my PC, it’s the same HD as it was originally.

It is a bit fussy about the HD as suggested. I had a similar problem when I changed the SSD on my previous laptop. Solved it (as I recall..) by going to;

https://www.xlnaudio.com/account/computers

De-authorising, then re-authorising it.

Well, I removed it from being a registered machine. The problem is I don't see any option to "register" a new machine.

Did you run the XLN Online Installer to register it again?

I ended up having to remove ALL of my machine registrations, hope I don't regret that. THEN when I ran the installer, it gave me the option to register this machine with the new HD. I reinstalled everything and got things partially fixed, but not the most important fix.

The standalone now works, but... existing/old projects with xln, the instrument still does not load. This is heart breaking.

I would write to their support about it and see what they can do.

Oh, I have and they seem dumbfounded. They're trying to recreate the problem.
