It's not an option for me because Apple refuse to put touchscreens on their computers, so having an application to work with touch makes no sense.

Which works best live is purely down to how you do your performances. Studio One was already the best I have encountered, simply because I can pre-load 20 or more songs before a show and select them as I need them. Previously I've always had to load each song one at a time, which meant gaps between songs could be 20-30 seconds. Now I can switch within a second or two and, hopefully, I won't need a mouse going forward, now that I have the Remote application installed, so it gets even slicker.
audiojunkie wrote: Sat Oct 19, 2024 4:16 pmAll DAWs have this functionality AFAIK, you just need to read up on what MIDI CC controls control what things for your DAW of choice. Then, like previously mentioned, you just need a decent midi control app, such as MIDI Designer, TouchOSC, KnobLab, TB MIDI Stuff, etc. Even if a DAW doesn’t come with an app by default, there are plenty of control apps available. 🙂
Exactly! It's a right royal PITA, as opposed to installing an application and opening it to have everything instantly accessible via touch, in a familiar layout that mimics the main DAW. Zero effort, zero learning curve. There is no way I could be bothered f**king around the way you suggest. It's way too much effort. I can't even be arsed setting up the knobs and sliders on my MIDI controller, it's much easier to assign anything I want to control on stage to the Mod Wheel.

Hmmm, I just tested LK and it doesn't work now! I could make it work few years ago! Anyway, it is a hassle to setup on Windows. I must have missed something. Sorry, I'm useless here!

The standalone downloadable manual seems not to be current. The one you download as part of the S7 install package does include info on the launcher (and presumably stem separation and the other new stuff).

Is it worth it if I have Studio One 5 Artist, or should I just get a 6.6 Artist license and wait longer?

If the reason you're thinking of waiting is stability, 7 has been quite stable for me.

There have been a number of bugs and anomalies reported on the Presonus forum. I'll wait to see if these issues are ironed out after the first point update. They may not be a big deal to you based on your usage but they are to me. I'll sit on the sidelines for now to see how things develop in the upcoming releases.

I would love to hear opinions from Linux users. Six was unusable. I want to know if things have become more stable with the new version in Linux. Anyone?

Anyone having problems with Track Presets in Studio One Pro 7? (this is on MacOS 13 Ventura). I've created a couple of Track Presets and whenever I load one of those, S1 immediately crashes to desktop. What a mess. I've created a ticket yesterday, but no reaction from Presonus yet.

To piggyback of your post, I've read reports where some S1 v7 users reported that they had issues with track presets not loading output routings correctly. Can anyone confirm if this is true? I have not upgraded to v7 yet.

Does anyone know the following , if I upgrade to stu-7 ( I'm currently still on 4.5 and demoing version 6 ) can I still download previous versions ?
Like I said , I am demoing 6 right now and if 7 remains buggy , is there a possibility to download v6 .?
I can't seem to download versions prior to 4.5 ,that's why I ask

I had the same question.
Presonus support told me,
"While we no longer offer Studio One 6 Professional perpetual licenses, you can access Studio One 6 Professional through a Studio One Pro+ subscription. An annual subscription will also give you access to a perpetual license for Studio One Pro 7 once the subscription expires."

That's ridiculous , so I need to get an additional subscription to acces prior versions
Is it so difficult to let us grant acces to all versions ?

It's more lucrative to require a subscription.

I also occasionally use an old version, and my OS doesn't meet the new system requirements for v7 so I asked if I could upgrade to 6 now, and 7 in the future.
