the point of contention was that bithead was asserting that no more major features would be added to the list.

No, my points were:
a) code was frozen last month (assumption based on knowledge of common software industry practice)
b) no new features will be added in the meantime (logical)
c) the features list doesn't seem very active
d) few features have been announced that interest me (opinion)
e) NAMM is 15 days away and time is running out (assumption about release date coinciding with NAMM)

Which one of these is so contentious that I get flamed and named by everybody?

And yes I did say that no new features would be published, but Beno insists that's not the case.

a) actually bugs marketed as features,
b) features that have lots of bugs because they were added hastily at the last minute and thus were not fully tested,
