Now listening to "Fields of Mistria": I had to see if Mistria actually exists, and I found at least one of them exists per Google Maps! Haha. The song sounds very pleasant, and your vocals sound quite good. As always, very nice melodies. Nice audio quality too. What I assume is some sort of guitar (or stringed instrument): it interacts nicely with the (other) keyboards. Nice song and recording!

Hey Aaron, thanks for the listen and feedback. Fields Of Mistria was actually inspired by the video game, Fields Of Mistria.aaron aardvark wrote: Wed Sep 25, 2024 4:31 am wagtunes,

wagtunes,
Just listened to "Dreamland": I like the Beatle-esque piano and drums. And everything else sounds very good too: bass, vocals, strings, all melodies, and anything else you have on the song. Very nice audio quality too. Nice song and recording! Only one problem: you're not recording songs as quickly as you used to.

wagtunes,
Now listening to "We Got the Power". The piano sounds very strong. Lead guitar sounds good: reminds me a bit of Brian May's lead guitar tone. I like the vocoder (or similar) part on your vocals! Very nice melodies per usual. Nice sound quality. Nice recording and song!

You know, I don't even remember doing this song. LOL. My memory is shot. Anyway, thanks for the listen. I think I'll have to check it out myself to remind myself what it sounds like. As for the Brian May sound, yes, I do have the Brian May pack for Amplitube. Sounds very authentic to my ears anyway.aaron aardvark wrote: Wed Oct 30, 2024 6:11 am wagtunes,

Anthem I wrote for me and one of our choir members to sing as a duet. Kept arrangement simple. Piano, bass, drums, vocals.

That's because the female vocals are not real female vocals. It's synthetic. I don't have a female vocalist on hand.Hezekiel wrote: Sun Nov 10, 2024 6:52 pm I think the female vocals are inferior to the male vocals. Like the autotune effect done too much. Otherwise I really enjoyed the performances and composition

Nice. So the choir member wasn't able to come record their vocals with you?
I think there is a better synthetic option these days with AI. Just upload your own vocal and choose a female performer and let it interpret for you.

Yeah, I know but I have no idea how to do the AI thing with vocals. I need somebody to teach me.Bansaw wrote: Mon Nov 11, 2024 12:54 am Nice. So the choir member wasn't able to come record their vocals with you?

Just been listening through a few of your tracks that I've missed over the past 2 years...
Just going to comment on the one element of your work that ALWAYS strikes me most (and still does on the newer stuff)
Your ability to create top notch, simple, restrained, catchy melodic lines...I genuinely don't think I've heard anyone on KVR who does it this well so consistently.
i think It's a combo of the excellent flowing word setting / the way the rhythmic elements of the main melody weave around the backing layers / the restraint ( as in NOT too many bloody notes...you understand the importance of the pause!
/ the often perfect choice of when and where to rise / fall.
If I was still teaching music (thankfully I'm done after 32 years
) I could do a whole lot worse than use your melodic content as examples of how to successfully approach that aspect of composition!
Good stuff!

It's listening to the Beatles. Paul McCartney is my inspiration. I've been compared to him many times.ChameleonMusic wrote: Mon Nov 11, 2024 9:08 pm Just been listening through a few of your tracks that I've missed over the past 2 years...
