Hi there
this is my first post so I apologize if ths has been covered before. I've spent about half an hour searching for a solution but all to no avail.
Occasionally, when I import a wav file into Tracktion the program freezes up and has to be manually shut down. After this, I can't reboot the program unless I restart my PC. When I click on the icon, nothing happens. Once i've restarted everything is fine. This problem occurs about three times a day, using Tracktion about 6 hours a day.
I'm wondering whether it has something to do with the 'autoplay' function when importing. This starts playing whatever file is highlighted. Is it possible this is confusing Traktion, or my soundcard? If so, how can I disable it?
As an aside, Tracktion is the first software multitracker that didn't make me want to eat my own eyes out with frustration. I had Cubase and Sonar, but I feel that the whole architecture of those programs just isn't intuitive to someon who grew up on 4 track, 8 track and 16 track hardware multitrackers...Tracktion just makes a lot more sense.
Best wishes.

Hi Derek,
welcome in times of T2-phobia!
I don't think it has anything to do with the autoplay-function switched on while importing, in fact I never had any problems with tracktion on any side (okay, xoxos Cubebreath shut down the whole pc
), so I can't give you any valuable hints, just wann assure you that most of the times it#s not tracktion's fault, as it approved as very stable for the most of its users. How big are those files you#re importingß Could there be any hardware-related problems, like damaged RAM or hardware-partition the samples you#re importing are located on...?
Good Luck!

The files i'm importing are on a separate drive - i have one drive for the progs (includin Tracktion) and OS, and another for all my data. Could this be relevant?

That's what I do, with no problems..derek headvoices wrote:The files i'm importing are on a separate drive - i have one drive for the progs (includin Tracktion) and OS, and another for all my data. Could this be relevant?
Do you import via the "A" shortcut (or the menus), or do you drag n drop from windows explorer?
If you always do one, try the other instead..?
