Nice one. That plucky melody/lead section was a fine addition.

The Universal idea must include something with a fish and the number 42 :D

Have a good one :tu:

enroe,
Thank you for the review! Now your song: the occasional delay on the vocals is nice. The vocals sound good. I am pretty sure you use pitch correction on the vocals (so do I usually); it's good the pitch correction sounds more transparent than some of your older songs, especially with this type of guitar sound. A different kind of guitar(s) sound for you, in my opinion: Quite Nice for something different. I think the song sounds quite good, and nothing to really gripe about. Nice melodies and recording! :)

Strong rhythm, gets your head bobbing yet allows you to focus on the lyrics. Love the bridge, also really nice use of delay on the vocal where it becomes more prominent and longer at times. :tu:
When the data is corrupt in the Desert of the Real, Beyond the Last Thought, where intuition reigns, is the solace that will embolden and strengthen the soul, giving hope once more to this age of failing technique. eassae.com

Aaah, thank you sbj! :)

Yes, exactly, I really like the idea of "42", it fits well.
Douglas Adams sends his regards! :o

This song is a little less "in your face" than some of your others. It's got a relatively laid-back vibe, although there are a lot of dynamics present in terms of builds between the the verses and chorus, and also within each verse.

Is that Tanya on backing vocals in the choruses? They work nicely and add a great contrast.

If there is a "Universal Idea", you can bet on it having been patented by a large multinational company, and locked away in a very safe place.

Good work :)

Thank you Aaron Aardvark (so many "a")! :)

Yes, recording the vocals well and editing them so that they really come out on top is a challenge. I notice here: the more we pay attention to good sound when recording in front of the microphone and offer a really good performance - in other words, singing the vocals in a harmonious way - the easier it is to bring the voice out on top afterwards. Even without Melodyne or Autotune.

Thank you!

A few minutes in there is what sounds like a nylon string solo with a change in groove which was really rock'n! Unexpected in an awesome way. Curious if you have any released formats that have a scrub so I can rewind and relisten to a specific part? BTW I love the idea of releasing a song as a fully produced package including a video and text like you have laid out on your page. I've been releasing single songs at a time and getting artwork for them but not much more than that. Thanks for the inspiration!

Yeah, thank you seismic!

Exactly, the song is more subdued, just clean guitar, just
one riff.

Yes, Tanja is one of the background voices. I hope to get her
to do more vocal work in the future.

Haha, by a multinational company? It shows that you are very
much rooted in the real world.

Hi, thank you bacco_music!

Yes - unfortunately we don't have a timeline (yet). You can
only listen to the whole song.

The combination of song and visual animation is meant to
offer a bit of an overall experience. Some people like that
a lot, as a special feature of "enroe". But many people
ignore it. To each his own.

A constant acoustic guitar riff underpins this one. The multi-layered arrangement you built around it provides the most interest. This is especially evident when the lead vocals drop out and arrangement opens up. Tanya's angelic backing vocals are an excellent touch! The mix is very good. Excellent work as usual!

The universal idea, an idea understood by intelligent life throughout the universe, is probably mathematics. Or if we are appealing to less intelligent life, the idea might be food. :-P

On the website, you need to click the top center play button to start the audio and then click the play button on the animation to start the video. This is not the best user interface IMO. I'm glad you provided a direct link to the MP3 which is straightforward.

Yeah, thank you Frantz!

The universal idea ... haha, maybe it is something else for
everybody: "Mathematics", "god", "food" ...

About the user interface we're still thinking. The idea is not
to make a YouTube video, but still something moving. Normally
the video starts automatically in Firefox and Chrome - but not
in Safari and other browsers. Hmm... we'll probably go back to
simpler HTML animations.
