It's abit weird I agreeelassi wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2024 10:06 amI wonder though why they used multipics for many controls (e.g. volume, cutoff, etc.). This isn't necessary as the controls (here: knobs) can contain their own image strips. However, there must be a reason for this, probably a resolution thing?gentleclockdivider wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2024 1:37 am Most monark controls are not your standard gui knobs and sliders , they are mouse areas etc..and multipic’s
The mouse areas on the other hand help to design styled switches which obviously makes sense.
If you look at the envelop stages for the amp , you 'll notice that it consists of gui fader loaded with a transparant picture , controlling a multipicture

Yes, a lot of 'standard' controls, actually all of them attached to the macro, equipped with a single transparent pic, control corresponding multipics inside and are being 'physically' placed right on them (using a higher layer number, obviously).
And I wonder why. *scratches head*

Yes, exactly this. This is what I want to learn to do well, learn the best practices. I wish there was an advanced tutorial on this part. There are so many pitfalls here that can cost huge amounts of time and frustration if you don't do it right from the get-go.elassi wrote: Sun Nov 03, 2024 1:20 am But even then you'd want to separate them for the sake of organisation and structure to keep overview and don't get lost in a jungle of modules.

The ChroAlpha 77 by Jasper from the user library and Fm4 from the factory library. Carbon 2 also could use a bigger gui.

Is there a particular ensemble you'd like to re-skin?

I would very much like the L3 slicer / loop recycler from the factory library to get a bigger GUI! Would be a dream come true

Ok, sounds like a fun project, guys.
Working on existing ensembles is much more straightforward than designing something from scratch.
Guess we start with the easier ones and then slowly increase the dose. So we do one 1:1 copy first with just a bigger GUI and later work on a complete re-design (if you want).
Gimme a couple of days to prepare it. Oh, and if you have own suggestions then make yourself heard.

If you're taking requests, I'll proffer these two -
Nothing wrong with this first one, but it with a design more befitting its sonic and sound-design excellence:
https://www.native-instruments.com/en/r ... how/15039/
But this delay could really do with a big UX/(G)UI shakeup:
https://www.native-instruments.com/en/r ... show/7985/
Of course, I wouldn't make such demands on your time for nothing. Perhaps you might consider the donation option?

Nah, no need for donations & such.
Btw, was thinking about the right subforum for this. I suggest we move the project to a new thread in the Modular- or Everything-else-forum, because we don't want to derail this one, do we?
Additional question: I don't use a high-resolution monitor, my max is 1920x1200. Which ensemble size (GUI-wise) should we target so that it pleases you 4k-monitor-guys?
Edit: Wait ... maybe KVR could establish a new Tutorial-subforum. That'd be great. I'll ask.

Bought Reaktor 2.3 some 20 years ago. Upgraded all the way up to R6.
Never got into the self-build thing (not smart enough...!), but the treasure trove of the user library is immense.
You could absolutely just buy Reaktor and you'd be covered for everything - synths of practically every means of synthesis, sampers, drum machines, eq, compression. The value is just insane.
Slightly worrried about NI's current direction and that Reaktor might be axed in the same way Absynth was, but hope springs eternal

i knew he is gonna like this one because i have one of his sample packs and it is full of metallic noises and hits made with modular synths and my last ensemble makes exactly those kind of sounds
