This is “warp”. I don’t know why but producing this one went pretty fast. Faster than my other releases. And that’s the reason for its name.

I decided to make my Bitwig project file available, so feel free to have a look: free bitwig project files on my website

I’m only using:
  • Bitwig stock plugins and stock samples
  • sometimes the free percussion sample pack
  • non essential plugins: Youlean Loudness Meter 2, Toneboosters GonioMeter, VSX

I posted this in the music cafe but I figure it's relevant here too:

It may look like a DAWless recording but this piece was multi-track recorded, edited and mixed in Bitwig Studio. The deep hardware integration in Bitwig has made it very easy for me to work the way I like.

I'd like to share my latest Bitwig production: a metal cover of "Voilà" originally performed by Emma Kok with André Rieu.

For this project, I extracted the vocals using AI, then built a completely new metal arrangement around it, with programmed drums, electric guitars, and bass - all produced in Bitwig Studio.

I found the 3/4 time signature particularly interesting to work with for a metal arrangement. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the production and mix!

VST Mappings for Bitwig

I'm always so surprised at how amazing the native Bitwig synths are.

This started as a Allesandro Cortini-esque experiment with sending multiple midi channels to one instance of Polymer, and it kind of grew from there.

So, all of the melodic lines are Polymer (driven by two parallel instances of Arpeggiator each) , and all of the drums are the V0 devices. Except for the snare--that's a sample.

Featuring Bitwig presets
* Digital Ocean Pad (Polymer) by Arksun
* Dirty Leslie (Amp) by Matjö
* EAR Gothenburg Kit 2 (Drum Machine) by Genys
* Quik Master (Chain) by Hedflux

Produced in Bitwig with some third party plugins. It is a kind of melodic techno track with focus on sound design and a strange polyrythm at the end.

It's a shame the AI I used for the video wasn't quite good enough :?

The infinity of it all.
Fresh off the insomniatic press.

Bitwig glitching like hell creating this one, dragging samples from scenes into the drum editor sampler while track is playing, bitwig no like doing that
