I have a question regarding Arturia V Collection. I’m still on version 6 and don’t necessarily need any new instruments, but I would be interested if there have been any major improvements or feature upgrades since then. Does Arturia frequently update and enhance their instruments, or do they mostly focus on adding new ones?

They generally update some of them with each release and mention it in the release details.

Minifreak was my main reason for finally buying V Collection. (I guess V Collection XI will also include Minibrute.)

It does seem like a weird choice to include Augmented ____ but not Pigments. It works for me though -- I used to have Pigments and sold it. And I'd have never bought the Augmented stuff itself, but now that I have them I find them useful.
Mostly I always assumed that V-Collection would remain their vintage emulation collection, and that is why Pigments isn't in there as a more modern synth design, but putting in modern NI PLAY style orchestral VI's kind of kills that logic, Pigments isn't in there, because, that's why. :?

Usually it's a bit of both

Taxes :( Fortunately, I've only scratched the surface of Komplete and IK MAX purchases from 2022,
and I need guitar practice far more than more goodies. I'd like to get my wife a Roland Go:Keys 5
but without slapping the plastic :scared:

And I recommend BlueCat Axiom suite for guitarists, The capabilities and content are great. Hosting 3rd party vsts in the rack is brilliant, for those with some pet plugins

Thank you guys, great to hear! I’m always hoping for features like parameter or preset morphing, maybe a smart randomization engine, native NKS export, and all those nice little extras. I think I'll check out the release notes!

Since version 6, in addition to the new Instruments, the Jupiter 8, Prophet 5/Prophet VS, and Minimoog have been totally redone. That actually breaks backwards compatibility with them, but you can keep the old and new versions installed at the same time if needed

Versions 7, 8, and 9 also added a bunch of new Analog instruments

Plus IMO the best reason to upgrade, they added a spot-on perfect Ensoniq SQ-80 emulation, the only one near this quality and functionality currently maintained AFAIK. It loads SQ-80 and ESQ-1 sysex perfectly.

The CS-80 was redone in V9.

Very nice indeed! I listened to the demos, and they sound great. There’s also MPE support, which is always a big plus. Do all the synths in the V-Collection support MPE?

edit: I just checked their website, these are the MPE-capable instruments:

Pigments
Augmented GRAND PIANO
Augmented STRINGS
Augmented VOICES
MS-20 V
CS-80 V4
Prophet-5 V
Prophet-VS V
Jun-6 V
Jup-8 V
OP-Xa
Vocoder V
Emulator V
CZ V
CMI V
SQ80 V

DX7 is not listed :x

I've downsized a lot, so more pizza and beer for me, less software.
Pizza goes better with cider. Beer's overrated, kind of like a Bud Lite thing I guess...

But, ya, given that I've developed a bad case of GAS, I'm going to sit this out. Besides, from what I've caught through the grapevine, 'Black Friday' may not be all that great for deals... oh, sure, maybe deals for the sellers... kind of like showing up to a job fair I guess...

Things pop up like the Arturia sale and the guitar effects bundle from UAD.

I have some hardware in my radar, but nothing that is really “Black Friday.” I preordered a Digitone II, and there were/are no sales on it yet. I am shopping for a new audio interface as well, probably another RME to replace my 9-year old Babyface Pro and ancient Fireface 800. Their flagship USB-3 interface is complete overkill for a home hobby studio, so I am probably going to buy their half-rack/desktop unit. I am also looking at the Apollo 2 X heritage USB-C interface which is compatible with Windows. I don’t know; RME Totalmix is awesome.

Wife and I have gone “lazy keto” and pizza + beer is off the radar. She prefers wine, but that is off the radar as well; too many carbs. We are going to suspend it for US Thanksgiving, though, and buy a couple of bottles. We were never big drinkers and the adult offspring will consume it as well.

I agree that cider (apple or pear hard) or rootbeer or birch beer goes better with pizza. Sweet + salty.
