Heya,
got my first apple silicon mac yesterday and most plug-ins installed just fine.
Just Waveform (13.2.0) and some Tone Empire and bozdigital plug-ins want to install Rosetta, or I can't install them.
I thought by now they'd run natively on silicon Macs (and as I said, the majority [Klevgrand, Wavesfactory, AudioThing, Toneboosters, IK, Kazrog] does)
Does this seem correct or am I missing something?
Was hoping to not have to deal with Rosetta since I did wait quite a while to change computers.
cheers,
mully
Rosetta needed to install the latest version of Waveform on an Apple silicon Mac??

Waveform itself is native, so not sure why you are getting that, unless it is to support bridging for non-native plugins?
In any case, Rosetta is transparent once installed - when prompted, just let it install it, then you can all but forget that it is there.
The only time you really need to do anything after installing it is if you find a need to force a particular app to run with it, which is a simple checkbox in the Get Info panel. You may need to do that with some apps (such as many DAWs) if you are using plugins that are not yet native, as apps which do not provide bridging for non-native plugins will need to run via Rosetta to be able to use those plugins (I believe Audio Unit plugins are automatically bridged by the operating system, but VST plugins are not, though some DAWs provide that bridge for VST themselves).
Otherwise it generally just does what it is supposed to do.

cool thanks. In a different thread it's been said that maybe the installer is not natively apple silicon compatible, the app(s) themselves however are. I do think that's an odd choice, but I guess that's just how it is.
