I read your post before you deleted it but just wanted to comment. I have submitted presets for inclusion in the factory banks of several synths (not Synthmaster) and the developers used what I considered to be the weakest ones and left what I thought were my best work on the cutting room floor for lack of a better term.

It's all a matter of taste and in the end its the developer's right to choose what they think shows off their synth in the best light, our egos be damned.

I wouldn't take it personally or let it discourage you.

Teksonik wrote: Wed Nov 13, 2024 12:27 pm Have you considered allowing .sfz support for multi-sample import? Would make mapping much easier since that is handled in the .sfz file itself.
Sorry but I do not understand the question. you can already drag-n-drop a sfz onto an osc waveform display and import&load the sfz file.
Looks like I need to shoot further tutorial videos...
Ahh I see. I missed that. I'll give it a try......

EDIT: Ok that works. I'd prefer open menu, select .sfz file over drag and drop but then I pretty much hate drag & drop in general no matter what the application.

For those not aware there are a ton of free .sfz files found here:

Hey, I wouldn't worry about it much like was mentioned some devs choose certain sounds. You're a real gem in this community I love your presets. I'm always lurking seeing what you produce with Synthmaster, cheers!

Someone without a clue about sound design could study your Synth1 contributions, and learn quite a bit about useful settings and combinations of available tools. Might be easy for some to get lost among multiple megasynths, each with a distinctly different gui and workflow :scared:

Well thank you for your kinds words.

Synth 1 still holds a special place in my heart and even to this day it has a character that is pleasing to my ears at least.

One of my joys is getting lost in megasynths like Synthmaster 3. They present a sound design challenge and are so feature rich and deep that I never feel like I've hit the wall.

There appears to be very little that SM3 can't do so I'm looking forward to spending a lot of time digging in.... :hyper:

I am adding a new popup dialog in SynthMaster 3.1 where you can edit ALL drum part layers on a single screen. (The track view also sort of allows that, but the number of visible layers is limited to 4). This new popup dialog will speed up creating drum patterns. I am also planning on adding MIDI input & multiple pattern support so that you are not limited to a single pattern.

We already have many drum/percussion presets in our factory/expansion library. Once you load them into layers, you can create drum kits like 808 since SM3 supports up to 16 layers.

Does glide work in polyphonic or only mono? In the manual it says I have to switch to mono in the voice part. From what I recall, in 2 you could use glide in a different part of the synth with poly, maybe that got moved to what I'm looking at now, but can it be done somewhere? Thanks

You might have tried it already, but is there a way in SM3 similar to do the wave sequencing you were a fan of? I won't mention the other synth, but it rhymes with "music".

I guess you could use a different sample on each layer, use about 8 layers like that and then have it cycle through them?

Is wavesequencing different from wavetable synthesis?

EDIT: Looks like it's more about crossfading samples.

Sigh... Yesterday, I bought the v2->v3 upgrade at PluginBoutique.
Still, it was less than the official price, but anyway not the 19$ current sale price...

Are you talking about these 9 sfz libraries? I wouldn't call that "a ton". And they all seem to contain electronic/digital sounds.
Can somebody recommend some free sfz libraries with real/acoustic instruments, preferably more on the exotic/ethno side?
