Amazingly, this has been its price since it was introduced. Playing with numbers always to come to the same price time after time really sends up the caveat flag. The best price I've seen on this was with JRR that had a group coupon with it. Otherwise, don't believe this "discount" as it is the price everywhere and from what I've seen, all the time.cclarry wrote: Fri Nov 15, 2024 7:13 pm APD BF Deal:

It sort of looks like a B-tier product (or lower). APD does have some good deals from time-to-time, but they are of course buyer-beware.BBFG# wrote: Fri Nov 15, 2024 10:57 pmAmazingly, this has been its price since it was introduced. I think it has more to do with the company taqsim than the vendor APD or any of them. It doesn't matter who is selling it, it's always the exact same ploy with the same numbers touting the same result. I was interested in this program, but after watching it since it's introduction in different online fronts, it just smells of cheap trickery.Gribs wrote: Fri Nov 15, 2024 11:52 pmIt sort of looks like a B-tier product (or lower). Reason and FL Studio should be great for that, too.havran wrote: Fri Nov 15, 2024 8:59 pm I like this idea. For a while I had been vaguely wondering what people do when they like almost everything about a DAW except its piano roll/midi sequencer.

You can use VCV-Rack like a DAW. If you buy the hosts module pack, it will host VST plugins and it is possible to do some very unconventional stuff. It even has a tracker module.

I am not trying to say anything about Reveal Sound, but I noticed that Spire is on sale for 20 dollars more than what I think was its historical minimum price (around 75 dollars at ADSR a while ago). It is another thing that isn't burning a hole in my pocket, but I just don't grok putting an item up for "sale" at a price that is fairly larger than the "entitlement" price (using six sigma language). That is the danger of sales; in the minds of deal-seekers, the lowest historical price becomes the entitlement price for the product... in my opinion at least.

Thing is, I've never actually seen any online dealer or the developer site sell it for anything but $49. It always shows their price they're discounting from and it always shows it being sold for $49. (Except for the one time JRR had it and allowed an "in-cart" price).Gribs wrote: Sat Nov 16, 2024 2:30 amUnderstood.BBFG# wrote: Sat Nov 16, 2024 1:39 amI think it has more to do with the company taqsim than the vendor APD or any of them. In the vein of looking for BF deals, this is definitely not a plugin at this price to consider. It's not really a deal at all.

Definitely a $49 plug (I think I got it for $29, might be misremembering) but I think it's a pretty good one at that price. Lots of nice sounds, fairly editable, micro tuning etc. Again, for the price its a solid plug in but yeah, if you have a BF budget you should probably buy something else.
Now don't think you're the only one who harbours a self hate

Something you could get that might help you enjoy *all* your synths more is a subpac or haptic vest.Gribs wrote: Sat Nov 16, 2024 2:47 am Yep, yep. I get it. I am just finding something else to complain about instead of playing with my synths :p

Plugin Alliance must be getting desperate. They sent me an email today even though I unsubscribed a long long time ago.

Well, they're under the NI umbrella now. How desperate can they be?Aloysius wrote: Sat Nov 16, 2024 9:18 pm Plugin Alliance must be getting desperate. They sent me an email today even though I unsubscribed a long long time ago.
Sadly, they're not the only company that does this. (I'm looking at you Tracktion/Audio Squad.)

That's basically a one man operation with a history of erratic behavior, but the less said the better there.
