No, clearly don’t care about existing consumers. There are other software companies that do a better job. Slate digital, cytomics, even waves ( might not be as accurate ( but they have been leading in the music industry for years and have lots of presets and FX chains from industry people) something that UAD do not even offer at the same extent. UAD has been burning bridges and falling behind for a long time, wish I would have seen this sooner instead of wasting time and money on them.

I like'em. Being less expensive has opened up their plugins to a much larger market. The iLok cloud licensing helped too I guess. I might grab the 176 comps($31 atm!). Absolutely love their 1176 plugins.

Of course they're not the only good game in town, which is what I assume drove those prices down. Kiive Audio, Tone Empire, Softube, Lindell, Pulsar, Blackrooster, Klanghelm, ValhallaDSP and so many more are damn fine plugin makers too.

Also Verve Essentials, which is my most used new plugin of 2024. I ended up getting the full version but mainly still use the same 4 algorithms that are included with Essentials.

I usually start with Thicken and then move down until I find an algorithm that doesn't sound like audible distortion. I only use Vintagize when I'm going for something over-the-top.

Well, these plugins where not given for free because they had a good heart. Marketing strategy, ''Upgrade to this bundle'' from any UAD plugin. LUNA well, it's where you can use the plugins at 100% of capacity. could that be said for using the same plugins in other DAW's? Nah. To their advantage. Leverage on the consumer

The Essentials is great. I only got the full version because they made me an offer on the Ultimate bundle that I couldn't pass up, but 99% of what I use it for can be done with Essentials.

Thats cool, doesn’t take from the fact that they have underlying intentions behind every action and that only seems to be selling regardless of the end user experience.
