Like the title says. Aly James is releasing the MKIII version of OB-Xtreme. I have no doubt this is going to be great. One new feature mentioned in the Thread blurb from Facebook posted here if you avoid that trap is poly unison.

I’m confused. I thought 2.1 was coming out next. So 3 is a free update then I guess?

Yeah that confuses me too, but I don't care that much because his plugins all cost less than $60. If it's free or a cheap upgrade I buy one of his other plugins for sure.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Wed Nov 13, 2024 3:57 am I’m confused. I thought 2.1 was coming out next. He says on his Facebook comments that it'll be a free upgrade for all V2 owners: https://www.facebook.com/reel/531968866356068

Just another reason to love the guy!
It should be mentioned that it's the first Apple Silicon native version. The current v2 runs OK but on my system no meters. IMO this thing blows the others out of the water by being an accurate recreation of an Oberheim and adding new features to the emulation.

It's my favorite OB as well. Still like Obsession though, especially for mpe. I prefer the ob-xtreme voice spreadin stugg though, it's easier.machinesworking wrote: Wed Nov 13, 2024 4:04 pm Just another reason to love the guy!

Obsession is the one I don't own. I do like Oberhausen SEM, and the Arturia Matrix but the OBXtreme is in a class of it's own with all the ways to overdrive and change the whole sound.Echoes in the Attic wrote: Thu Nov 14, 2024 3:56 am It's my favorite OB as well. Exciting news! I'm not sure this is my favourite Oberheim but it is absolutely my favourite OB. Lately, though, I find myself using OB-EZ more than any of my other Obies. It's like SEM with unison without the hassle of OB-E.

Hello everyone,
I’m excited to share that all OB-Xtreme v2 owners will receive a free upgrade to v3—consider it an early Christmas gift from me!
For those who purchased before November 2023, you may have missed the launch of the new shop with instant downloads and a user area. If that’s the case, I’m currently working on importing your orders into the new system to ensure you’ll have access to v3.

Here is a change log :

I’ll be releasing a new video and v3 user manual before next week and will be adding more presets to the current v3 factory library, which already includes 180+ presets (from v1, 2 and 3). You’ll also notice a few updates not mentioned in the change-log, such as new GUI indicators for patched modulations and corrections to v1 presets. (Believe it or not, v2 had some key settings unset in all imported v1 presets!).
Anyway, I’m going to grab a quick nap while I have the chance.

Thank you for your support, and I hope you enjoy OB-Xtreme 3.0!The system automatically sends update emails to all v2 license holders from the new shop and will do the same for imported orders. Please note that email delivery can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours, but rest assured, the updates are on their way.
Quick note: v3 will run alongside v2, it will not replace v2, and you can easily import your custom v2 presets into v3.

Here is a change log :
- Introducing - Mac VST3 and Native Silicon (M1/M2, etc.). Builds are "Universal 2," meaning both VST3 and AU work natively on Intel x86-64 and ARM64 Apple Silicon Macs.
- Introducing - Fully remade high-resolution GUI with vectorized knobs and buttons for improved clarity.
- Added - Enhanced sound engine with selectable polyphony (4 or 8 voices) and configurable mono/poly unison modes (2, 4, or 8 clones).
- Useful for reducing CPU usage.
- Added - New parameters: velocity to VCF and amplitude envelope decay times.
- Added - New parameter: Global Velocity Response.
- Added - Panning internal presets for quick stereo placement (Wide, Spread, Ping Pong, etc.).
- Added - XMOD oscillator output can now be patched to VCF frequency.
- Added - Real-time filter and amplitude envelope visualization.
Particularly useful when switching EG VCA modes to observe envelope and VCA changes.
- Changed - OTA maximum possible gain increased by 100%.
- Changed - OSC1 & 2 tunings range increased (- 36 to + 39 semitones).
- Changed - 4-Pole volume compensation now applied automatically.
- Added - Keyboard Scaling (KBS) for configurable keyboard voltage tracking, assignable to master volume or LFO modulation depths.
Ideal for balancing volume across octaves or cross-fading with two plugin instances for preset blending (e.g., bass on the left, stabs on the right). Can also be applied to LFO modulation depths.
- Improvements - Knobs can be reset with AltGr + click, skin settings are saved and recalled, knobs and sliders respond to mouse-wheel.
- Fix - PWM now receives full LFO range (voltage polarity fix).
- Fix - OSC phase no longer resets on waveform change.
Eliminating initial loud sound until normal drift resumes -phase initialization fix.
- Fix - Resolved rare crash with legacy MIDI Program Change.
- Fix - Optimized CPU usage.
- Fix - Improved VST3 MIDI support.

I’ll be releasing a new video and v3 user manual before next week and will be adding more presets to the current v3 factory library, which already includes 180+ presets (from v1, 2 and 3). Anyway, I’m going to grab a quick nap while I have the chance.

Woo-hoo! I got my email and it installed without a hitch. It's late here so having a play will have to wait until the morning.
