Soundtoys Plugins still not resizable?!?! "there are no plans currently to implement resizable GUIs for our plug-ins"

I bought PrimalTap because Eddie Van Halen had a Lexicon Prime Time at 5150 Studios.
Other than that I’ve picked up a few that they gave away free over the years, most recently PhaseMistress.
I’d like resizable GUIs, but let’s just say my life doesn’t depend on Soundtoys.

This is nonsense, I know a lot of people who swear by Soundtoys, they to a man really hate the UI design and wish it was less hardware looking.Lerian wrote: Mon Nov 11, 2024 11:32 am My guess is that people fall for the analog-hardware UI design more than anything else. Because on comparison, Fabfilter Saturn is in a totally different league on how it sounds and what it can do. All that at 2/3 of the cost of Decapitator.
I don't underestimate the power of autosuggestion. Almost all of us fall for our own perceptions, and this is quite visible in the plugin space - almost all plugins that look hardware-like are thought to sound better than digital looking equivalents, even tho that's a lie. Its the same as being fooled by gain.

Actually its not at all nonsense. Its called the halo effect, and has been very well studied and confirmed to be present in all aspects of animal life, not only in humans. Nonsense is to use one anecdotal experience to draw a generalized conclusion.bungle wrote: Sun Nov 17, 2024 12:17 pmThis is nonsense, I know a lot of people who swear by Soundtoys, they to a man really hate the UI design and wish it was less hardware looking.Lerian wrote: Mon Nov 11, 2024 11:32 am My guess is that people fall for the analog-hardware UI design more than anything else. Fabfilter is one of the most expensive options out there. Hardly any sales, expensive bundles. If you kept up with the Soundtoys freebies in the past you could get the bundle for not much more money than Saturn. Decapitator has such a long history of usage on popular music that it's a sound in it's own. It's very probable that people buy it because of it's "credentials". Which is probably the case for fabfilter also.

From what I see the digital audio community generally feels Fabfilter is top tier in terms of features, usabily and sound quality and well worth the money. They have 3-4-5 sales a year much like other plugin companies. But yes they arent for everyone for various reasons.drsyncenstein wrote: Sun Nov 17, 2024 6:03 pm Fabfilter is one of the most expensive options out there. Hardly any sales, expensive bundles. Rumor goes (and also public info that is no longer public) that any sound engineer who dare to truly say what they believe about it in a public manner (like youtube) is sued by soundtoys. That could be another reason why people are buying it, besides "credentials".drsyncenstein wrote: Sun Nov 17, 2024 6:03 pmDecapitator has such a long history of usage on popular music that it's a sound in it's own. Rumour is that you are nothing but a bot being used to spread dumb conspiracy theories.Lerian wrote: Tue Nov 19, 2024 12:10 pmRumor goes (and also public info that is no longer public) that any sound engineer who dare to truly say what they believe about it in a public manner (like youtube) is sued by soundtoys. I do not own decapitator so I can't speak on it's merits. I do own Staurn 2 and it has all the right features and a beautiful UI. However, I find that the algorithms don't ahve the most personnality, and not because it's digital or whatever, my fav distortion units are not analog emulations as well. Don't get me wrong it's a great plugin but it's not leagues above everything else imo.Lerian wrote: Mon Nov 11, 2024 11:32 am My guess is that people fall for the analog-hardware UI design more than anything else. Soundtoys need a new design (not only it is old, but also isn't particularly accessebility-friendly, most designers will agree), a revamped workflow & making sure that they reward new users as much as they do old users.
Look, I was young when they were giving away a whole Little Alterboy, Little Microshift, Sie-Q, etc. It definitely isn't my fault for being born later than a lot of people here.
That is ok, but my personal gripe is reading how people upgraded from freebies for under $100 to the full bundle and here I am with a $100 Effect Rack and their upgrade price to the full version is $89, which in total makes it a regular sale price.
I want it to be under $50, but that's just me. I feel like if I was just born earlier, I would have gladly taken advantage of the deals, but $89 from the Effect Rack, Phasemistress, Little Radiator & Little Plate is too much for me.
I will accept a free personal upgrade offer from Ken though
(joking, of course).

And that would be even more nonsense that has nothing at all to do with faux 3D UIs, but we can all feel important by typing word salad for sureLerian wrote: Sun Nov 17, 2024 12:47 pmActually its not at all nonsense. Why are you writing, if you have no idea what are you writing about?
Damn, things got so crazy that anyone who dare to say anything even remotely true, or possibly hurts someone's feelings, must be a bot. No human could possibly do that, why would they? We all know that there are things a human just won't do. Why? Doesn't matter, if it hurts someone's feelings its prohibited, we all know that. We are all the same in here, and must believe the same ideas, and BS, and we must fall in line, whatever that line might be. How dare you think for yourself? In UK even got illegal.

Sorry pal, you're the one here claiming that Soundtoys is suing people for talking shit about their software, which would hold absolutely no legal ground in any court I'm aware of, and every lawyer knows that..Lerian wrote: Tue Nov 19, 2024 4:54 pm Why are you writing, if you have no idea what are you writing about?
