When will Code RED / free enter the current decade and support Apple Silicon?
Maybe get your existing product catalog up to code before you ask people to trust you enough to purchase new stuff?

You have asked that question number of times already. The answer was, is, and will be: it is on our roadmap.jamcat wrote: Wed Nov 20, 2024 5:56 pm When will Code RED / free enter the current decade and support Apple Silicon?
We do not discuss future developments.
We have demo products so people, who don’t trust us, can try the product on their own system before buying.jamcat wrote: Wed Nov 20, 2024 5:56 pm Maybe get your existing product catalog up to code before you ask people to trust you enough to purchase new stuff?

That answer is better than nothing. But it sounds like you haven’t even started yet. Apple Silicon has been around for 5 years now.SGA wrote: Wed Nov 20, 2024 6:25 pm The answer was, is, and will be: it is on our roadmap.

The trust issue you’ve created is regarding your willingness/ability to support your products in the future, in a timely manner. Again, Apple Silicon has been around for 5 years now. Everyone else ported their considerably larger catalogues years ago. You have relatively few plugins and have only managed to get a couple of them to Apple Silicon so far. In 5 years. This has created a trust deficit for your company.SGA wrote: Wed Nov 20, 2024 6:25 pm We have demo products so people, who don’t trust us, can try the product on their own system before buying.

Please, stop the harassment. Your random musings and accusations are unfounded and incorrect. Furthermore they, unjustly, put us in bad light. This is borderline slanderous.jamcat wrote: Wed Nov 20, 2024 8:56 pmThat answer is better than nothing. But it sounds like you haven’t even started yet. It's OK to not like our products. Harassing us is not.
This thread is about our plugin, Eclipse; not your soap box. If you have questions about Eclipse, we will gladly answer them here.

Please correct anything that I have said that isn't.
Also, I never said I don't like your products.
The problem is that I can no longer use your products that I own. See above.
Now, am I mad about that? You tell me how you would feel in my position. Especially seeing new products being released for sale while the old ones you already sold are left to wither.

SGA doesn't owe you anything. They are under no obligation to future-proof their products.jamcat wrote: Thu Nov 21, 2024 2:28 am The problem is that I can no longer use your products that I own.

Yep. And that's why I won't buy anything new from them now.careyletendre wrote: Thu Nov 21, 2024 5:07 am They are under no obligation to future-proof their products.

Actually you can. CodeRed runs just fine in Rosetta 2. See attached image of CodeRed in Live 12 onjamcat wrote: Thu Nov 21, 2024 2:28 am The problem is that I can no longer use your products that I own. See above.

Which is perfectly fine in and of itself - making this kind of stink about it however is not.jamcat wrote: Thu Nov 21, 2024 7:00 amYep. And that's why I won't buy anything new from them now.careyletendre wrote: Thu Nov 21, 2024 5:07 am They are under no obligation to future-proof their products.
And to be frank I (and I bet a whole lot of others here) am really sick and tired of reading these kind of rants from entitled Apple zealots. Why don't you direct some of your angst at the two parties responsible for your unbearable misery? (that would be your worshipped deity Apple and your own unholy self.)
If I decide tomorrow to get one of these new shiny Snapdragon X machines, would I have any right to pester and harrass developers over not supporting the new plattform quickly enough in the future?
I wouldn't - not at all. What's the difference here? Yes, this: I can decide to stick with X86 for as long as I want to in any foreseeable future. As an Apple user however you can't.
Who is responsible for this lack of choice? Yes, that's right: It's Apple and your meagre self alone (because you knew/know it and freely chose/choose to go along with it anyway).
A proper reply from plugin developers to your question "when" would imo be:
"Never - you don't deserve our attention and we can't get rid of you lot soon enough. Be our guest to never purchase from us ever again - we'd consider that success."
Just shut the f**k up - will ya? No, of course you won't.

Yeah, Intel stuff with work with Rosetta but most of us don't use it and want to run everything natively. I don't think it's installed on my machine, but I'm not sure. All of my other plugins went native years ago with a couple of other exceptions I can think of (Boz Bark of Dog, UBK-1).SGA wrote: Fri Nov 22, 2024 12:09 pm Actually you can. Jens, first of all I didn't start this thread.
I originally had replied to SGA in their latest thread promoting yet another new product while their older products continue to go neglected. I asked a reasonable question.
But SGA cried about it, and so a moderator split this off into its own thread.
Imagine if Waves or IK Multimedia was so fragile and thin-skinned that they did that too. KVR would be nothing but Waves and IK Multimedia complaint threads.
The problem is they already said long ago that Apple Silicon ports were coming. They said that so people would continue purchasing their existing catalogue and maintain sales. I got plugins because I was told they would be supported. So if their objective was to trick people into buying their products under false pretenses and take the money and run, then yes, I guess they would consider that success.

You mean "the audio industry"?
If they had said "never" from the start, instead of "it's on our roadmap" then there wouldn't be a problem now, would there?jens wrote: Fri Nov 22, 2024 1:27 pmA proper reply from plugin developers to your question "when" would imo be:

You didnt know the risks and constraints with your system purchase decision before buying? That's on you. If you did, then youa re baking up the wrong tree: complain to Apple. Dev's have no obligation to maintain their software. That's a risk to all of us, that we should all be aware. You seem to want more than the indusry can offer. This isn't Home Depot. It's software. And computers. You mean you havent learned how to navigate all this in all this time? Odd.

That is not an adequate substitute for the native Apple Silicon version that was promised.
Again, the issue here is that decisions were made and money was spent based on promises made to maintain the software.plexuss wrote: Fri Nov 22, 2024 9:52 pmYou didnt know the risks and constraints with your system purchase decision before buying? Do I understand you correctly that what you're saying when it comes to SGA is it's "buyer beware"?

Why not?
All us early Apple Silicone adopters were running some percentage of their plugins via Rosetta, mostly without issue. I ran tons of plugins via Rosetta back then and only one of them had an issue, and even that was intermittent. The overly dramatic Rosetta hand wringing is absurd.

You were not promised anything by us. If you have a proof of us promising you anything then provide it. Otherwise we expect an apology from you and for you to stop these baseless accusations.jamcat wrote: Fri Nov 22, 2024 9:52 pmThat is not an adequate substitute for the native Apple Silicon version that was promised.
